HP EliteDesk 800 G6 Mini PC, SFF, and Tower PC offerings pack increased horse power and ample expandability
HP has upgraded its EliteDesk 800 G6 portfolio with 10th gen Intel Comet Lake CPUs across desktop mini, small form factor (SFF), and tower chassis types. With the EliteDesk 800 G6 series, HP is focusing on improved business manageability features and higher storage expandability.
EliteDesk 800 G6 Desktop Mini PC
The HP EliteDesk 800 G6 Desktop Mini PC can be installed behind the monitor or inside a HP Mini-in-One 24-inch display. The Mini PC can be configured with options up to the Core i9 Comet Lake CPU with optional vPro features and can be fitted with a maximum of 64 GB of DDR4-2666/3200 RAM. HP is offering the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti as the GPU of choice. The EliteDesk 800 G6 can be configured in a variety of storage options (refer spec sheet below) and comes with a 1x M.2 2230 slot for a WLAN card and 2x M.2 2280 slots for PCIe storage.
The HP EliteDesk 800 G6 Desktop Mini PC supports the entire suite of HP security features and is expected to be available in July with prices starting from US$929.
EliteDesk 800 G6 Small Form Factor PC
The HP EliteDesk 800 G6 Small Form Factor (SFF) PC is now equipped with Comet Lake-S Core i9 125W CPUs with optional vPro capabilities. HP has endowed the 800 G6 SFF with four drive bays and four half-height slots — including two slots for dual-GPU support. Additionally, there are three M.2 slots, and 11 USB ports available. The 800 G6 SFF's rear I/O can be customized with a choice of display ports including VGA, DisplayPort, HDMI, USB Type-C with DP-out, or Thunderbolt 3.
RAM expandability up to 128 GB DDR4-2666/3200 and PCIe NVMe storage options up to 2 TB are supported. HP is offering several GPU options to choose from depending on the display I/O needed. These include the AMD Radeon R7 430 (DP+VGA), Radeon R7 430 (2x DP), Radeon RX 550X (DP+HDMI), NVIDIA Quadro P400, and the Quadro P620.
The HP EliteDesk 800 SFF PC is expected to be available in September with prices starting from US$939.
EliteDesk 800 G6 Tower PC
The EliteDesk 800 G6 Tower PC is the highest configuration being offered by HP in the desktop business PC category. The new 800 G6 Tower is about 9.6% smaller compared to the previous generation and offers a nice set of expandability and customization options for businesses. Configurations are similar to the SFF PC with options up to a Comet Lake-S Core i9 125W CPU, and configurable display I/O. Both the SFF and Tower models share the same GPU options. However, HP notes that an RTX 2080 Super option is also available.
The 800 G6 Tower offers five drive bays, four full-height slots — including one for a full-length double-wide graphics card. Additionally, there are three additional M.2 slots and 11 USB ports.
The HP EliteDesk 800 Tower PC is expected to be available in September. Pricing information is not yet known.
