HP has refreshed its Elitebook x360 convertible lineup with 10th gen Intel Comet Lake-U CPUs, 5G networking, and optional OLED panels for the x360 1030 G7 variant. The new Elitebook x360 models also feature a redesigned keyboard, slimmer chassis, and offer both vPro and non-vPro CPU options.

Alongside the new mobile ZBook Firefly workstations, the Elitebook x360 series is also getting some internal upgrades this year. The HP Elitebook x360 1030 G7 and the x360 1040 G7 are targeted at professionals who need the flexibility of a convertible along with always on 5G connectivity. This year's Elitebook x360 series gets a redesigned keyboard with rubber dome keys and a much slimmer and lighter chassis.

The Elitebook x360 1030 G7 and 1040 G7 get customary CPU upgrades to the Intel 10th gen Comet Lake-U in both vPro and non-vPro options. CPU options start from the Core i5-10210U all the way till the Core i7-10810U. There is no discrete graphics, so these notebooks are not suited for any heavy multimedia work or gaming. There is 32 GB of DDR4-2933 RAM available in the default configuration itself, but it is soldered and cannot be upgraded. Users can configure the Elitebook x360 with a variety of storage options from 128 GB to 2 TB with even a few Intel Optane options being available.

The Elitebook x360 has most connectivity options covered including Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5, and optional 5G and 4G LTE WWAN, which is facilitated by the Snapdragon X55 and Intel XMM 7360 LTE modems. Port selection includes 2x Thunderbolt 3 ports, 2x USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-A with charging, a combo audio jack, and a HDMI 1.4-out port.

The Elitebook x360 1030 G7 and the x360 1040 G7 differ primarily with respect to their displays. Last year, the Elitebook x360 series was the first to offer a 1000-nit display. HP continues the same trend this year as well. The x360 1030 G7 offers a 13.3-inch 1000-nit FHD IPS touchscreen by default, but that can be configured with touchscreen options that include a 400-nit FHD IPS panel, a 550-nit UHD HDR400 IPS panel, or even a 400-nit UHD OLED display. The Elitebook x360 1040 G7 offers similar 14-inch panel choices, but an OLED display is not indicated. Users can optionally purchase the HP Rechargeable Active Pen G3 for writing tasks.

The standard configuration for both the Elitebook x360 models offers a 4-cell 54 Wh battery. However, the x360 1040 G7 can be configured with a 4-cell 78.5 Wh battery as well.

The Elitebook x360 1030 G7 and 1040 G7 are expected to be available in July. Pricing information will be made available closer to launch.
