Earlier this year we hailed the EliteBook x360 1040 G5 as having "almost everything you want from an Ultrabook". We even think it is better than HP's flagship consumer-grade convertible, the Spectre 13. The device scored 92% overall in our tests, but with that high score comes an even higher price.
The EliteBook x360 1040 G5 retails from US$2,717, which gets you an Intel Core i5-8250U processor, 8 GB RAM and a 256 GB SSD. Likewise, the top configuration costs an eye-watering US$4,064 and comes with a Core i7-8650U, 32 GB RAM and a 256 GB SSD. You can customise the device up to an astonishing US$5,741 too, which adds a 4K touchscreen display and a 2 TB NVMe SSD.
Until May 5, HP is taking 35% off all configurations, which takes the model that we tested down from US$3,792 to US$2,464.80 and a huge US$2,009.35 off the top of the range version. Our review unit could not make the most of its Core i7 processor so you may be better off considering the Core i5-8250U or Core i5-8350U models instead, which have dropped as low as US$1,766.05.
HP is also taking 40% off the Elite x2 1013 G3 and the ProBook 640 G4 along with US$770 off the Pavilion 15z. There are loads of other offers too, which you can find on its flash sale and weekly deals pages.
