Even though the new Ryzen 4000 APUs do not integrate Navi iGPUs, the performance gains are quite substantial, at least when compared to the previous generation. According to the latest UserBenchmark tests, the new 7 nm Vega compute units should be 34% faster than similarly clocked Intel Iris Plus iGPUs, while 3DMark 11 reports that AMD's gains are only around 10%.

Zotac is the latest company to join AMD's mini PC initiative. For now, there is only a ZBOX Nano barebones model that is powered by the Ryzen 3 3200U APU with integrated Vega 3 graphics and support for up to 32 GB of DDR4-2400 RAM, but models powered by the new Ryzen 4000 APUs are also expected to launch later this year.

The official page for the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X processor has gone live. Many of the details about the HEDT chip were already revealed at CES 2020 but now the powerful 64-core desktop CPU has its own home to boast of. AMD is advertising the Threadripper 3990X as the “One Processor to Render Them All”.

The CES keynote did not touch on important aspects, but press representatives were able to obtain new info immediately after, when AMD CEO Lisa Su was kind enough to answer a torrent of questions at a separate Q&A session. Among the new details, Su confirmed the launch of high-end Navi-based GPUs with hardware-level ray tracing this year and the Navi APUs scheduled for 2021.

Based on the APU images unveiled by the Xbox directors, the new chip is estimated to have a die 11% larger than the current one featured on the Xbox One X console. This should allow for more Zen 2 cores, hardware-based ray tracing and 8K video decoding. In other news, AMD goofs around by showing unofficial footage of the Xbox Series X rear connectors.

Comparing one Ryzen 7 4800U laptop to one Core i7-1065G7 laptop isn't enough to accurately represent the CPUs. We're going to need a sample size of retail units from both chipmakers to paint a bigger overall picture of their performance differences.

A promo video from MSI has seemingly shown off AMD’s Ryzen Threadripper 3990X by accident. The clip was focusing on the manufacturer’s Creator TRX40 board that is capable of supporting the new 3rd Gen Threadrippers. However, a system clue has apparently given away the fact that it was not a Threadripper 3960X or 3970X behind the scenes.

The AMD Ryzen 9 3950X has been spotted in Geekbench 4 and Geekbench 5, where it handily beat the Intel Core i9-10980XE and Core i9-9980XE, respectively. It’s been a busy couple of days for AMD as the company has revealed four new products to its processor lineup. It can be easily argued that 2019 has been a standout year for AMD. Zen 2 Ryzen 3000 desktop processors have been shaking up benchmarks all over the place and the long-awaited Radeon RX 5000 series (“Navi”) has introduced RDNA architecture to the world. But AMD’s respected CEO, Lisa Su, understandably believes 2020 is going to be grander.

Packaging for a 3rd Gen Threadripper from AMD has been leaked. The box-within-a-box design features a square exterior case emblazoned with the famous orange Ryzen ring while the interior packaging resembles a sleek and even slightly futuristic somber gaming rig. It’s believed AMD will be releasing the Castle Peak Ryzen Threadrippers very soon.

Early test samples for the 2020 Renoir APUs based on the 7 nm Zen 2 architecture may have been spotted on 3DMark11 running on a Celadon-RN platform with default CPU clocks ranging between 1.7 and 2 GHz. One of the test setups includes a 1.5 GHZ iGPU, so we could be looking at Vega 10 or even low-tier Navi variants.

The latest AGESA 1.0.0.4 microcode update for AMD Ryzen 3000 processors seems to enhance all-core boost clocks and improve boot times, according to preliminary test results. This update is in beta and will soon be seeded for all compatible Ryzen motherboards, but it does not yet contain all the improvements that are touted to be available in this microcode release.

Intel might think it can get away with an optimistic Q3 2019 earnings report, but AMD's rising market shares paint a different picture. Intel's ongoing CPU shortages and the difficulties encountered with the 10 nm jump are allowing AMD to relentlessly accrue market shares in the desktop, laptop and server markets.

The Hygon C86 is essentially an AMD EPYC Zen 1 chip with an additional cryptographic layer added by the Chinese joint venture company collaborating with AMD. The chip was manufactured by GlobalFoundries as a proof-of-concept, and future Hygon CPUs will most likely be manufactured through other foundries like TSMC.

September’s Steam Hardware and Software Survey has seemingly delivered more good news for AMD. The survey has measured data in regard to PC processor usage by manufacturer, which yet again has been thoroughly dominated by Intel. However, the red team has enjoyed another month of considerable growth, which could be down to its Ryzen 3000 generation of chips.

Some new Geekbench scores for AMD’s Ryzen 9 3950X have been unearthed and unsurprisingly the 16-core chip has performed admirably in the multi-core tests. Two separate benchmarks have been discovered, with AMD’s Zen 2 processor appearing on a Prime X570-P motherboard from Asus and a B450 Aorus Pro Wi-Fi board from Gigabyte.

Since the 3700X and 3800X 8-core CPUs are already available, the launch of the 3750X for retail channels might not happen at all. The specs would have to be too similar to the 3800X and a price point between US$330 and US$400 would not really be that justified. AMD may consider launching the 3750X model for OEMs, however.
