Recently, OnePlus sent out a mysterious teaser concerning its first-ever appearance at CES next year. Now, on the date of its 6th anniversary, the OEM has offered slightly greater insight into this event. Its purpose is to showcase this company's inaugural concept device.

The OPPO Reno3 series has been teased again in even more detail by its OEM ahead of these phones' late December 2019 launch. This time, the company has let the base model's processor name slip. It seems this device will be powered by the heretofore-unannounced MediaTek 1000L chipset.

The Exynos 9611 on the A51 and the Snapdragon 730 on the A71 are clearly meant for mid-range smartphones, but the imaging features on these models are already more advanced than anything Samsung has put on previous flagships. In this respect, the A51 features a 48 MP main shooter, while the A71 comes with a 64 MP sensor, and both get a 32 MP selfie cam.

Qualcomm already presented the premium mid-range Snapdragon 765G with integrated X52 5G modem, so the fact that the Snapdragon 865 comes with no integrated 4G/5G modem does not make any sense. Unless Qualcomm wants to increase its profit and force OEMs to buy the SoC + 5G modem combo. Financial issues aside, most 2020 flagships could be plagued with overheating, low battery life and poor 5G connectivity.

The Exynos 9285 has been proven inferior to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, so is it any surprise that Samsung is switching to the Snapdragon 865 for the Galaxy S11 series? Europeans are still set to receive the lesser Exynos version though, according to multiple sources.

It looks like the Exynos 990 will not really be a match for Qualcomm's Snapdragon 865, and Samsung is already hard at work on a next gen SoC. According to Ice Universe, Samsung will use the 5 nm manufacturing process for the upcoming Exynos 1000, which should also include ARM's high-performance Cortex-A78 cores coupled with either the Mali-G78 or an RDNA GPU from AMD.

Xiaomi VP Lu Weibing is expecting the first LPDDR5 smartphones to hit the market in Q1 2020. Weibing is probably hinting at the Redmi K30 5G that is supposed to launch in January next year, since this model will also be powered by the new Snapdragon 765G SoC that is compatible with the new memory standard.

Realme will launch the X50, its first phone with 5G, soon. However, the OEM has also announced that there will be a Pro variant of this same device. It will be powered by the next-gen flagship Snapdragon 865 SoC, but will not be available until 2020.

On the other hand, newer form factors are thought to do better in this new forecast. This trend is thought to be related to the strength of the nation's economy over the next 4 years.
