It is not unusual for Samsung to release multiple versions or derivatives of the same phone, even at the lower ends of this market. For example, the Galaxy A30s is the A30 with a different screen (in terms of resolution (which is reduced) and of having an in-display fingerprint sensor) and triple cameras. Now, there is evidence that the OEM is pulling this move again, albeit with an even cheaper device this time.
This company debuted its first Galaxy A0x smartphone in 2020. This A01 is now on the US market at just under $110, for a 5.7-inch HD screen and dual rear cameras. Now, it appears that, despite its foundational pricing, it might get an alternative version that is somehow even more budget.
This comes in the form of a new Samsung phone battery reportedly spotted on the Safety Korea regulatory database. It is called the EB-BA013ABY, which, judging by the normal nomenclature within this OEM, may mean that it goes in a device called the SM-A013.
As the A01 is the SM-A015, this hints at a second variant for this product. Given that the existing econo-phone's number is the (slightly) greater, this potential newbie may turn out to be something like a Galaxy A01e.
However, should it prove an even better bargain than its putative sibling, it is certain to have the same battery capacity, at least. It is 3000mAh, same as the current A01. (For a larger battery with identical specs otherwise, one needs to look no further than the Galaxy M01.) However, there is no other data to back this new leak up at present.
