Huawei begins the global rollout of EMUI 10.1 for the P30 and P30 Pro
EMUI 10.1, as its name suggests, is a minor upgrade from EMUI 10. Launched alongside the P40 series earlier this year, Huawei has now released its latest OS to the global editions of the P30 and P30 Pro. The rollout follows on from the equivalent update for Chinese versions that Huawei began issuing last month.
To date, EMUI 10.1 has reached the P30 and P30 Pro in Germany, France and Spain. It could still be months before the update reaches handsets in other countries like the UK though, as proved the case with the rollout of EMUI 10.
The version number of EMUI 10.1 currently being released as an over-the-air (OTA) update is 10.1.0.123. The 4.59 GB update is available through the Huawei Support app and includes changes like Multi-Window, Multi-device browsing and new fingerprint animations. 10.1.0.123 also upgrades the P30 and P30 Pro to the May 2020 Android security patch.
The update does not include Huawei's voice assistant, Celia, though. EMUI 10.1 also comes pre-installed on the P30 Pro New Edition, as does Google Mobile Services (GMS). It remains to be seen whether the P30 Pro New Edition will receive two OS upgrades though, seeing as the P30 Pro launched on Android 9.0 Pie.
