Rumor | Huawei will start a new smartwatch line that matches the Mate series
Not only does Huawei have a new smartwatch in the works, it will have a product name similar to that of this OEM's premium phablets (and foldable tablet). At least, this is in accordance with a new leak posted on the website MyFixGuide.
It consists of a new "trademarking application" allegedly screen-capped by this site. It shows that it has been made by Huawei Technologies under international product category code 9 (which is indeed the right one for devices such as smartwatches). Then again, the article that incorporates it does not mention the jurisdiction in which it has been made, which impugns the validity of this tip.
On the other hand, the Mate sub-brand has expanded steadily over the years; it started out with one phone up to the point at which it now involves laptops, premium tablets and the groundbreaking X and Xs flexible-display mobile devices.
Furthermore, according to a new rumor started by the Twitter leaker @RODENT950, there is also going to be a MatePod, which may be an audio product such as a wireless speaker. This speculation may be cleared up at the launch of the Mate 40 Pro, which is currently projected to occur in Autumn 2020.
