Sony's image sensor business is in high demand. Even running its factories 24/7 cannot keep up with demand. Sony's semiconductor business expects to generate over US $9 billion in revenue this year, about $8.15 billion of which comes from smartphone camera sensors.

The iPhone XR topped global sales charts in the third quarter of 2016, marking its fourth consecutive quarter at the top, according to Counterpoint Research. Other entrants in the top 10 global sales charts for 2019Q3 include Samsung's mid-range handsets (the Galaxy A series), a trio of Oppo phones, Xiaomi, and Huawei.

OnePlus took its time on finalising the Android 10 update for the OnePlus 6 and 6T, having pulled the initial Oxygen OS 10 build for both handsets because of various bugs. Every new leak only serves to confirm that Samsung will offer unrivaled camera performance on its upcoming Galaxy S11 phones. Vivo has launched the X30 series, its first pair of smartphones to come with dual-mode 5G as standard.
