Samsung is set to release two Galaxy Note 20 series phones. The first will be the regular Note 20, while the second will be the more expensive, feature-packed model. That second model has been referred to as the Note 20+ but new information indicates it could be called the Note 20 Ultra instead.

A while ago, it was revealed that Samsung would launch just two Galaxy Note 20 models: a regular Note 20 and a souped-up Note 20+. That name has now been put in doubt, however, as new documents indicate that the Note 20+ may be the Note 20 Ultra.

The upcoming Galaxy flagship with the model number "SM-N986U" seems to have been certified, and is listed with the model name "Galaxy Note 20 Ultra". That's strong evidence. Leakster Ice Universe seems to believe this is a mistake, though, and that the phone in question will be the Note 20+.

Details of the Note 20 Ultra have also been revealed by Max Weinbach of XDA-Developers. Supposedly, the phone will feature a 108 MP camera like the S20 Ultra, a 40 MP selfie camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 13 MP 4x zoom periscope shooter., a 4500 mAh battery, and the Exynos 992 in most markets.

The real kicker, however, is that it's said to use the same ultrasonic under-display fingerprint hardware as the S20 phones. A few weeks ago, word on the grapevine claimed the Note 20 phones would debut with the second-gen 3D Sonic Max fingerprint readers with a larger surface area and improved responsiveness. The fingerprint readers on the S20 phones are one of the phones' biggest weaknesses, and fixing that would have made the Note 20 duo even more attractive.
