Smart Business Starter. The Lenovo Thinkpad SL300 is the last representative of the SL-Series in our tests. As the label suggests, it deals with with a compact 13.3 inch office notebook, whose affordable base price allows a wide audience to be introduced to the Thinkpad model lineup. Equipped with an integrated 4500M HD GPU, HDMI port, and optional Blu-Ray drive, the notebook also shows characteristics of a multimedia machine.

One for all. The models of the T-series made by Lenovo were always the solid base of the complete product range. With display sizes of 14.1" and 15.4", equipped with current and if desired also powerful hardware, the current T-models can cover a wide range between mobility and performance. Combined with typical Thinkpad qualities, they are still serious contenders among business notebooks.

Thinkpad for Everyone. Lenovo intends to attract attention of the very big number of potential customers in the low price category by the launch of the Thinkpad SL series. Thereby, the SL models should offer the successful Thinkpad qualities at an attractive entry level price, which makes it affordable for everyone. Overall, the SL series approaches the consumer sector.

Pure performance. Until now the Thinkpad T-Model from Lenovo, which was enhanced after the short ending -p, set the standard for professional users with high performance demands. After a complete overhaul of the Lenovo product lineup, coincident with the launch of the Intel Centrino 2, Lenovo is now starting a few new notebook series. Among them are the new mobile workstations with the labels W500 and W700, which are meant to replace the Thinkpad Txxp models.

New in Business. Right on time for the launch of the new Intel Montevina Platform, Lenovo uncovers its brand new product range. While the T, R and X series are full of familiar faces, the SL models reveal an entirely new product, that should strengthen Lenovo's position in the entry level business sector. Equipped with many of the tried and true Thinkpad features, these new noteboks will probably appeal most to price conscious business and private customers.

Thinkpad Air. As slimmest and lightest ever model in the Thinkpad series, Lenovo shows off its most recent creation. The initial hype surrounding the compact notebook was only further heightened by the near simultaneous introduction of the MacBook Air. In complete contrast to the slick but air-headed Apple, Lenovo stayed down to earth with the business competence provided by the Thinkpad X300, particularly in terms of its extensive communicative capacity.

Solid Office Notebook. The ThinkPad T61 is a notebook which should especially attract business customers. Lenovo products are top regarding user-friendliness and data security. Here the Lenovo ThinkPad T61 scores points by many reasonable details. Furthermore Lenovo's customer support is excellent. Knowing the part number, it's pretty easy to quickly order most parts.

p as in Performance... Soon after the Thinkpad T61 series also the T61p serious was launched. They are in general based on T61 models, but trimmed for performance, so, that they meet evenhigher performance demands (NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M). These notebooks, which are especially liked by designers and 3D design engineers, are of course also equipped with a proper display, in our case with a WUXGA panel with a resolution of 1920x1200 pixels.

Review Lenovo Thinkpad T61 Notebook - Full Upgrade

Pump it up. A short time ago we reviewed the T61 in its base equipment. Especially the very small battery, but, also the only average processor raised the claim for more power. Here is another review of the T61 with top equipment,...

Evergreen. Whoever thinks that the launch of the Lenovo Thinkpad T61 consigned the Thinkpad T60 to history errs. The T60p has some qualities which are still not matched by the brand-new T61. A special feature of the reviewed notebook is that it was retrofit with a 15" FlexView UXGA display, which provides first-class overview by a resolution of 1600x1200 pixels and, furthermore, all-time stability to the vantage point.

The Lenovo IBM Thinkpad X61T is a compact mobile notebook with tablet functions. It's light magnesium case and the good battery runtime qualifies it for students, who need to browse the Internet, take notes, and copy pictures by using the pen. Furthermore, it is also not fit for up-to-date games, because of an integrated video solution and a processor with low-energy demands. So, it makes it easier to concentrate on the lesson.

Thinkpad in plastics If you'd like a Thinkpad, but are put off by the high price, you could consider the Thinkpad R series. Although made of plastics instead of magnesium alloy, the well-known Thinkpad qualities have been retained unchanged. The case is a little fatter than the usual magnesium case, but regarding robustness it is hardly inferior than the one of the T-series.

Thinkpad - Next Generation. Lenovo continues the IBM Thinkpad's success story the T61. The Santa Rosa chip set provides brilliant performance and is the only proper equipment for well-known business notebooks. Not only the inner parts where improved, also the case was further advanced. Especially the also formerly very good robustness scores very high again.

Professional for journeys - with display weakness. Presumably designing a really good subnotebook is one of the most challenging tasks of mobile notebook development. It is essential to design a robust and light notebook which faces at the same time sufficient power and good battery runtime. Lenovo's preconditions are good, because of the recently acquired, first-class knowledge of IBM. As usual you can read about the Thinkpad X60s' capabilities at notebookcheck.net.
