Thinkpad Air. As slimmest and lightest ever model in the Thinkpad series, Lenovo shows off its most recent creation. The initial hype surrounding the compact notebook was only further heightened by the near simultaneous introduction of the MacBook Air. In complete contrast to the slick but air-headed Apple, Lenovo stayed down to earth with the business competence provided by the Thinkpad X300, particularly in terms of its extensive communicative capacity.

p as in Performance... Soon after the Thinkpad T61 series also the T61p serious was launched. They are in general based on T61 models, but trimmed for performance, so, that they meet evenhigher performance demands (NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M). These notebooks, which are especially liked by designers and 3D design engineers, are of course also equipped with a proper display, in our case with a WUXGA panel with a resolution of 1920x1200 pixels.

Evergreen. Whoever thinks that the launch of the Lenovo Thinkpad T61 consigned the Thinkpad T60 to history errs. The T60p has some qualities which are still not matched by the brand-new T61. A special feature of the reviewed notebook is that it was retrofit with a 15" FlexView UXGA display, which provides first-class overview by a resolution of 1600x1200 pixels and, furthermore, all-time stability to the vantage point.

The Lenovo IBM Thinkpad X61T is a compact mobile notebook with tablet functions. It's light magnesium case and the good battery runtime qualifies it for students, who need to browse the Internet, take notes, and copy pictures by using the pen. Furthermore, it is also not fit for up-to-date games, because of an integrated video solution and a processor with low-energy demands. So, it makes it easier to concentrate on the lesson.

Thinkpad in plastics If you'd like a Thinkpad, but are put off by the high price, you could consider the Thinkpad R series. Although made of plastics instead of magnesium alloy, the well-known Thinkpad qualities have been retained unchanged. The case is a little fatter than the usual magnesium case, but regarding robustness it is hardly inferior than the one of the T-series.

Thinkpad - Next Generation. Lenovo continues the IBM Thinkpad's success story the T61. The Santa Rosa chip set provides brilliant performance and is the only proper equipment for well-known business notebooks. Not only the inner parts where improved, also the case was further advanced. Especially the also formerly very good robustness scores very high again.

Professional for journeys - with display weakness. Presumably designing a really good subnotebook is one of the most challenging tasks of mobile notebook development. It is essential to design a robust and light notebook which faces at the same time sufficient power and good battery runtime.
