ARM Mali-G720 MP7

The ARM Mali-G720 MP7 (or MC7) is a mid-range GPU for smartphones and tablets, which can be found in this form for the first time in the MediaTek Dimensity 8400. Compared to the similar Immortalis-G720, the raytracing support is only optional in the Mali variant. The Dimensity 8400 seems to have not implemented it.
It uses 7 of the 16 possible cores and is based on the latest 5th generation GPU architecture. According to ARM, it offers 15 percent higher performance than the previous generation with the same number of cores and can access 40 percent more memory bandwidth.
In our test of the Dimensity 8400 in the Xiaomi Poco X7 Pro, the GPU performed at around the same level as an Adreno 735 in the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.
The Mali-G720 GPUs support Variable Rate Shading (VRS), Deferred Vertex Shading (DVS) and optional hardware-based ray tracing. The GPU is manufactured in 4 nanometers.
