After much anticipation, Sony has officially unveiled its long-awaited successor to the PS4 series of gaming consoles. The new PS5 series features a futuristic looking design and will come in two variants, one with a traditional optical disc drive and the other in a ‘Digital Edition’.

Rumour has it that Microsoft could well be planning to use AMD Ryzen APUs for a new Surface product. Codenamed Pollock, the APUs will be low-powered chips. Commits have suggested that Pollock APUs bear resemblances to AMD's Dali architecture.

Asus has added BIOS Support for Renoir desktop processors. AMD is thought to have developed up to twelve APUs that have either 35 W or 65 W TDPs. The Ryzen 5 4400G has been spotted on 3DMark too, confirming several specifications about the 65 W APU.

Acer's latest 14-inch laptop features the AMD Ryzen 7 4700U processor, and boy does it do a job over the Intel competition. About 207 patches for a new AMD GPU codenamed Sienna CiChlid have been committed to the AMD Radeon Linux Driver. Evidence from these patches suggests that Sienna CiChlid could, in fact, be Navi 21 aka Big Navi. The AMD Ryzen 9 4900H in combination with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 has paid a visit to 3DMark’s Time Spy benchmark as part of an Asus TUF Gaming A15 FA506IV laptop. The result recorded was considerably better than the CPU Score produced by the Ryzen 9 4900H in a Dell G5 15 Special Edition that was tested last month.

Shortly after Intel brought its Comet Lake S desktop CPU lineup into play, AMD slashed prices on the 64-core 128-thread Threadripper 3990X. The premium HEDT part is now available for its lowest price yet.

Asus has been promoting its TUF Gaming A15 laptop on Twitter, revealing the high-end Renoir APU AMD Ryzen 9 4900H and the capable Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 GPU. The laptop has already been advertised for pre-order on a UK site for £1,399.99 (US$1,721) and should be available in mid July. There has been some criticism about the laptop’s display, though.

MSI has confirmed that its 400-series motherboards will be compatible with AMD's upcoming Zen-3 desktop processors. Codenamed Vermeer, the processors will work with MAX and non-MAX boards.

“Warhol” has apparently been leaked as the codename for AMD’s Ryzen 5000 series of mainstream desktop CPUs. According to the leak, Warhol will feature Zen 3-based parts utilizing a 7nm manufacturing process and offering PCIe4 support. The series would seemingly slot between Vermeer and Raphael in AMD’s roadmap.

If AMD manages this feat, the PC competitive landscape could drastically change in favor of team red, leaving Intel way behind struggling to make the jump to 10 nm. However, these may as well be just unfounded rumors, as a production shift from 7 nm to 5 nm on such short notice may not prove to be that easy.

The 3DMark scores for the upcoming Ryzen 4000 desktop APUs show solid performance gains over the older models as far as CPU cores go, but the iGPU gains are quite minimal since the chips essentially use the same Vega cores from last year.

A new report on future Intel and AMD CPUs by Chinese publication Expreview confirms much of what we've been hearing about upcoming AMD processor codenames up till 2022. As the last of the "big three", HP has announced its new 2020 business laptop lineup. The new Elitebook 800 G7 series brings a fresh design as well as new Intel Comet Lake processors - and AMD Ryzen 4000.

Benchmarks have just leaked for the AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT and the AMD Ryzen 5 3600XT. These chips beat the Comet Lake S i9-10900K and i7-10700K respectively in Cinebench R20's single-core test.
