Acer Swift 3 launched in India; features an AMD Ryzen 5 4500U CPU, Wi-Fi 6, and more
Laptops running AMD's newest Ryzen 4000 chips are few and far between, especially in India. Xiaomi announced that it would bring its laptop line to the country, but it'll feature tenth generation Intel processors. So it is quite refreshing to see Acer release a new Ryzen-powered Acer Swift 3 in the country. Prices start at Rs 59,999($796) for the base variant. The notebook is available for purchase on Acer's official website and will soon be available on all major e-commerce platforms.
The Acer Swift 3 comes with a 7nm AMD Ryzen 5 4500U processor and an Radeon GPU. The base version comes with 8GB of RAM and a 512GB NVMe SSD. The 14-inch FHD IPS LCD panel comes with Acer's ComfyView technology. The 16mm thin Mg-Al alloy laptop weighs only 1.4 kilograms, making it ideal for people on the go. However, the sleek form factor makes it so that users get significantly fewer I/O options. The Acer Swift 3 comes with one USB Type-C port with DC-in, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 port with power-off charging, one USB 2.0 port, and an HDMI port.
Some of the other features include support for Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, a fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication, and Windows Hello. Acer claims that the Swift 3's 48 Wh 3-cell Li-ion battery can provide up to eleven hours of backup, and that half an hour of charge is enough to power the laptop for up to four hours. On the software side of things, you get a pre-activated copy of Windows 10 Home and Microsoft Office Home and Student 2019 out of the box.
