The Lenovo Flex 5 with an AMD Ryzen 5 4500U and 16 GB of RAM is purchasable again for US$599.99
The Lenovo Flex 5 is available on Amazon for US$599.99 again. While the deal first appeared in late May, Amazon exhausted its stock and has seemingly only recently replenished its inventory. The SKU in question comes with an AMD Ryzen 5 4500U APU and a 14-inch IPS touchscreen display that operates natively at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels in a 16:9 aspect ratio. The device also has 16 GB of dual-channel DDR4-3200 RAM and a 256 GB PCIe SSD.
The Ryzen 5 4500U is a six-core APU based on AMD's 7 nm Renoir architecture. The APU does not support Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT), which means that it can only execute one thread per core. The APU also has a 15 W TDP, a 2.3 GHz base clock and a 4.0 GHz boost clock. Additionally, it integrates a Radeon RX Vega 6 (Ryzen 4000) GPU that can reach 1.5 GHz and has 8 MB of L3 cache.
The Flex 5 comes with an Active Pen in the box, too. By contrast, Lenovo sells the Flex 5 from US$669.99, and that is with just 8 GB. Oddly, the device cannot be configured with 16 GB of RAM on Lenovo US. It is worth keeping in mind that while the Flex 5 has been well-received, its display only peaks at 250 nits. This is not bright enough for using the device outdoors on a sunny day, for example. Overall, a 2-in-1 with a Ryzen 5 4500U, 16 GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD for US$599.99 represents good value for money, in our opinion.
