Lenovo refreshed the ThinkBook 13s with Intel Tiger Lake processors. The Lenovo ThinkBook 13s Gen 2 comes with a 13.3-inch WQXGA IPS panel, up to 8GB of RAM and 1TB of solid-state storage, and a 61Wh battery that can be charged at 65W. It will be available for sale in October 2020, starting at US$829 and US$729 for the Intel and AMD versions.

Lenovo pivots the ThinkBook 15 Gen2 into the 'work from home' market with a novel new feature that significantly improves its versatility as a video conferencing device.

Lenovo is offering processor options up to an i7 Tiger Lake for the Intel models or up to a Ryzen 7 4800U for the AMD models. The Intel models are a bit bulkier as they get the best features including up to 40 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM, up to 3 TB of storage, an MX450 dGPU option and a Thunderbolt 4 connector. The AMD models, however, are limited to up to 16 GB LPDDR4x-4266 RAM, up to 1 TB storage, and they do not get a dGPU option, but they also are lighter and slimmer.

The newly-unveiled ThinkBook 14 Gen 2 can be configured with Intel Tiger Lake and AMD processors. Other features include an FHD IPS/TN display, an Intel Xe/Nvidia MX 450 GPU, Wi-Fi 6 compatibility, and more. The notebooks will be available for purchase in October 2020. Prices start US$569 for the Intel model and US$549 for the AMD variant.

The upcoming GeForce MX450 will bring the biggest gen-to-gen leap in performance for the low-power MX series since the launch of the MX150 back in 2017. Both Intel and AMD are now able to offer GeForce MX150-like performance from more power-efficient integrated GPUs which will push Nvidia to finally incorporate Turing onto its next generation MX400 family.

Avita, an emerging notebook brand, has already launched the Admiror mid-ranger to the US market. Now, it is to be available via UK retailers as well. It is a 14-inch USB type C-only model with an atypical design to match its Flaming Copper or Blazing Brown colorways.

A new video from PlayStation UK has offered up an explanation of some of the PS5 tech, including a mention of the console’s famous SSD and its 5.5 GB/s typical raw read bandwidth. However, thanks to assistance from Oodle Kraken and Oodle Texture, I/O bandwidth could actually reach 17.38 GB/s and even Mark Cerny’s 22 GB/s claim.

Nvidia's RTX 3000-series launch was not that successful due to the extremely limited card stocks. The situation should be improved towards the end of October, right around the same time AMD is planning to release the Navi 2x GPU series. Will team red pull a paper launch a la Nvidia, as well? Frank Azor is confident that this will not be the case.

The German OEM ran into incompatibility issues caused by the Vega iGPUs and was unable to fix these problems because Samsung no longer offers engineering support for those particular OLED panels. Schenker/XMG states that the demand for an OLED option is there and we will most likely see AMD-powered laptops with OLED panels in 2021.

While the CPU performance increase seems negligible on the new Ryzen 7 5700U models, the results mustered by the iGPU side certainly suggest that the Lucienne APUs could integrate Vega 11 chips, at least for the top-of-the-line models. These Lucienne APUs may turn out to be AMD's rushed response to Intel's Tiger Lake models that are just a bit faster than the previous AMD Renoir processors.

A new update to the Radeon Open Compute (ROCm) firmware details some key specs for Big Navi, codenamed Sienna Cichlid, and Navy Flounder. These include the number of Compute Units (CUs) and the memory bandwidth of the two new GPUs from AMD.

AMD has announced the expansion of its Chromebook-focused lineup to include 14 nm Zen-based Athlon and 12 nm Zen+-based Ryzen processors. Sony has published all of the official specifications for both the PlayStation 5 and DualSense controller. Details about the Radeon RX 6000 series have started flowing out, six weeks before AMD launches its next graphics cards. According to a new report, the RDNA 2 cards will offer up to 80 CUs, a 256-bit memory interface and 128 MB of Infinity Cache. 300 W will likely be a target TDP for high-end RX 6000 series cards, as will clock speeds that will rival the 2.2 GHz GPU clock of the PlayStation 5.

Photos of Radeon RX 6000 and RDNA 2 cards are starting to flooding out, this time from RedGamingTech. The triple-fan card features plenty of I/O and a thick design. Thought to be the Radeon RX 6900 XT, the card will be joined next month by lower-end SKUs, too.

AMD's upcoming Zen 3 Vermeer lineup could include the 12-core Ryzen 9 5900X and the 8-core Ryzen 7 5800X. This further confirms that AMD will be aligning mobile and desktop CPU names under the Ryzen 5000 family. We are also getting to know that Zen 3 may get conservative when it comes to boost clocks but will be able to sustain the boost for longer periods.

HP is expanding its mid-range ProBook 600 series with a new, lightweight 13.3-inch model powered by AMD Ryzen 4000. AMD's "Biggest Navi" is rumored to be similar to the Radeon VII, featuring HBM2 VRAM and 80 compute units, and Nvidia is apparently planning to counter this with an RTX 3000 Titan GPU equipped with up to 48 GB of 21 Gbps or even 23 Gbps GDDR6x VRAM that may turn out to be only 10% faster than the RTX 3090.

Timed exclusivity may work in the world of consoles games, but limiting a great processor to just one laptop and one screen size isn't such a great idea. The limited press coverage and availability of both the Ryzen 7 4800HS and Ryzen 9 4900HS may be attributed to the fact that only just a handful of Asus laptops carry such options.

A recent leak of benchmark scores from an unnamed AMD Radeon GPU in Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation may point to how well AMD's upcoming RDNA 2 "Big Navi" graphics cards will perform. Credible leaks unveil complete specs for NVIDIA’s upcoming GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Ampere graphics card. The cut-down GA104 part is set to deliver performance comparable to the GeForce RTX 2080 at a far lower price point, making premium ray-traced experiences viable at 1080p.

The leaker is suggesting that this could be the Navi 21 flagship GPU, but, judging by the memory configuration and the thickness of the radiator, this may actually turn out to be the Navi 22 mid-range solution that is supposed to compete with Nvidia's RTX 3070 models.

Microsoft has just introduced the concept of the Xbox Series S. Now, it has gone into greater detail on its upcoming, all-new digital-only console. The product also gets an AMD Zen 2-based CPU and an RDNA GPU, albeit not exactly the same as the one that will come in the Series X. The latter is rated for 4 TFLOPS' worth of performance, whereas the X is not.

The IPS FHD displays come with 144 Hz refresh rates and AMD FreeSync Premium support. Users may add up to 64 GB of DDR4-RAM and up to 4 TB of NVMe SSD storage.

The new overclocking features for AMD's upcoming Zen 3 Ryzen 4000 CPUs include a Curve Optimizer and the Infinity Fabric dividers, and we also get a confirmation that the new CPU lineup will feature 10-core SKUs, as AMD has upped the number of cores per CCX to 8.
