Now that mobile Zen+ Ryzen 5 3500U and Ryzen 7 3700U processors are shipping, laptops sporting the last generation Ryzen 5 2500U and Ryzen 7 3700U are about to get a lot cheaper. The Acer Aspire 3 with Ryzen 7 offers nearly the same performance of an Intel-powered flagship Ultrabook for less than half the price.

The Ryzen 7 3800X supports DDR4 RAM clocked at up to 3.2 GHz, but the Geekbench tests were conducted using only DDR4-2133 RAM. Even so, the AMD chip proves ~5% faster in multi-core tests compared to the Intel i9-9900K coupled with the same DDR4. The AMD chip is also expected to cost almost US$100 less.

From now until the end of next week, a total of 12 grand prize winners will get an MSI X470 motherboard, Radeon VII graphics card, or 27-inch Optix FreeSync monitor. Users must follow MSI on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram to be eligible for the prizes.

Not much is known about the X590 platform but speculation is that it could feature even more number of PCIe Gen4 lanes than what X570 offers.

The mysterious Intel Core i5-8265UC processor has reared its head again, and this time it has done so in some style. The chip has been spotted on numerous benchmarks and has performed well in all of them, outpacing both AMD’s Ryzen 5 2500U and Ryzen 5 3500U in some cases. Atari's VCS game console is now available for pre-order from Atari, Walmart, and GameStop. The console starts at US $249 and comes in a two models with three different designs (depending on retailer). Walmart and GameStop are expected to ship pre-orders in March 2020.

Announced today, the new 2019 Mac Pro looks like an updated "cheese grater" Mac Pro. Featuring a massive spec bump over the current Mac Pro, the new desktop features 8 PCIe slots and Apple's new Mac Pro Expansion (MPX) Module system. MPX Modules use a proprietary connection that allows for enough PCIe lanes to deliver 500 Watts and support dual Radeon Pro Vega Duo GPUs with a total of 56.8 teraflops of computing power and 128 GB of HBM2 VRAM.

AMD has agreed to license its Radeon graphics technology with Samsung in a multi-year partnership. The deal brings the American company back into the mobile GPU market for the first time in over ten years. It also spells the end to the Mali GPU partnership between ARM and Samsung that started in 2014.

Although recent BIOS updates for X370- and X470-based mainboards were supposed to include PCIe Gen 4 support, AMD's Robert Hallock has just confirmed on Reddit that this option will not be available in the final firmware releases for 3rd generation Ryzen (AGESA 1000+).
