Offside. This year's T-series ThinkPads have only received minor updates. Nevertheless, the smaller 14-inch models have improved quite a bit in regard to performance thanks to AMD Ryzen 4000. This cannot be said about the larger ThinkPad T15 Gen 1 though as it lacks the Renoir option entirely and has to make do with Intel's Comet Lake. Our extensive review revealed that this can be a major show-stopper for the large T-series ThinkPad.

New name but not much new otherwise. ThinkPad T400, T410, T420, T490. Lenovo's ThinkPad T series has followed the same naming scheme for more than a decade. That changes with the Lenovo ThinkPad T14, the latest model in the mainstream ThinkPad series for enterprise customers. But apart from the new name and a small CPU update, which provides a doubtful usefulness, there's not much new.

Minor Update. Lenovo shows the 8th generation of its business flagship ThinkPad X1 Carbon. However, it is just a very small update and it looks like you only get a new Intel Comet Lake-U processor at first. AMD processors are not planned for this generation of the expensive business notebook.

New hardware, same performance? Huawei updated its MateBook X Pro, and the new model features a combination of Intel Comet Lake CPU and Nvidia GeForce GPU. Unfortunately, performance was relatively poor and the dedicated GPU was even outperformed by some integrated GPUs.

No innovation, but still very good. Apple refreshes its 13-inch MacBook Pro with a new keyboard, but the other changes are minor. You get new processors, but only the performance of the integrated graphics adapter has improved.

A breath of fresh air. This is the biggest XPS 15 refresh since 2016, but is it everything XPS fans have wanted? Of course not — die-hard fans will always find something to complain about.
