The Gigabyte Aero 15 OLED XC is a multi-talented laptop with a fantastic OLED display
Gigabyte's new Aero 15 OLED XC is a multimedia laptop equipped with the laptop version of the brand-new Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070. In the test, the laptop stands out with its compact build, good workmanship, and extremely solid construction. The main focus is the high-resolution 4K OLED display, which reproduces multimedia content with razor-sharp clarity and rich colors. The Samsung panel has a Pantone certification and achieves 100% and 99% color-space coverage for the sRGB and AdobeRGB color spaces, respectively. As long as you don't want to play hectic shooters, the display hardly leaves anything to be desired. If that should be the case, you can use three video outputs with the Aero 15 OLED XC. Among these ports is a Thunderbolt 3 port, which can alternatively be used as a blazing-fast interface for power delivery or connecting a docking solution. In addition, you get a very fast SD card reader.
We were the least enthusiastic about the keyboard, since its somewhat undefined pressure point and rather weak key feedback don't make for comfortable typing. Together with the high operating temperatures and the cheap speakers, these are one of the few points of criticism that keep the Aero 15 OLED from being a real all-rounder. However, the graphics and system performance is in order, the installed hardware cuts a fine figure, and there's more than enough performance available for most application scenarios.
