Samsung has finally released its new Galaxy A20 variant to a few select markets such as Malaysia. It goes for a price of RM 699 (or about US$167) in this country. For this, the customer gets 13+5+8MP rear cameras, 3GB of RAM and the Snapdragon 450 processor.

The new 495 chipset only brings a faster OPI COU interface that is capable of 4.2 GT/s data transfer speeds, Wi-Fi 6 and expanded Intel Optane memory support. Nothing new on the port selection and PCIe lanes side, unfortunately. Even though Ice Lake was supposed to introduce support for USB 4.0, there is no mention of this feature, either.

On the outside, the Mi 9 Pro is identical with the non-Pro version; however, the internals have been refreshed with a Snapdragon 855+ SoC, up to 12 GB RAM and up to 512 GB storage, while the 4,000 mAh battery now supports 45 W wired / 30 W wireless / 10 W reverse charging options. There is also an improved speaker with the largest sound chamber among all Xiaomi handhelds.

A new entry for what claims to be the Radeon RX 5500 has appeared on GFXBench. Not content on just outdoing the iPhone 11 Pro Max and Mate 30 Pro on cameras, Xiaomi has hinted that it will release a successor to the Mi Mix 3 with a 100% screen-to-body ratio on September 24 at an event in Beijing. Navi 14 may be arriving earlier than we expected and in the form of pre-built desktops, at least according to new HP machines. Are you in the market for a midrange desktop GPU but are holding out until AMD releases its Navi 12 and Navi 14 GPUs? Navi 12 and Navi 14 should replace AMD's Polaris range.

Typically OEMs release several models during a console's lifespan, with Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo all doing so for their current consoles. However, the latest rumor is that Sony will launch the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro on day one, apparently to address interest for a high-end model. The Nubia Z20 is perhaps one of the more unique of all Snapdragon 855 Plus-powered flagships, as it has a 5.1-inch rear-facing display in addition to its 6.42-inch main screen. It has only been available in China since its launch; however, the OEM now has a global release date for this phone.

Dell's patent for a dual-display device was published by the WIPO last week detailing how the OEM plans to address some of the shortcoming of foldable displays such as consistency in brightness, color, and contrast levels. The patent also talks about addressing the problem of flexible OLED screen burn-in indicating that Dell is indeed working on releasing a foldable OLED dual-display laptop in the near future.

AMD has officially stated that the Ryzen 9 3950X desktop processor and the next generation of Ryzen Threadripper chips will be launched in November. Chinese retailer JD.com has jumped the gun and listed the Ryzen 5 3500X on its website before AMD has even formally announced it. The listing confirms the tip that prolific leaker @TUM_APISAK posted last month, with AMD marketing material pitting its upcoming Zen 2 processor against the Intel Core i5-9400F. The listing reports that the Ryzen 5 3500X will clock between 3.6 and 4.1 GHz, but that its 6 cores will not support Simultaneous multithreading (SMT).

The non-5G Kirin 990 SoC powering the Mate 30 Pro holds its own against all Snapdragon-855-powered handhelds and is almost on par with Apple's iPhone 11 models, but it is slightly slower than the Snapdragon 855+ flagships. With higher clocks and a more powerful NPU, the 5G variant of the Kirin 990 is expected to match the Snapdragon 855+ SoC.
