The first DDR5 modules will be aimed at the server market, with consumer variants expected to hit the market in late 2021. Initial frequencies will be limited to 4,800 MHz, but, as the technology matures, frequencies will be hitting 6,400 MHz and even 8,400 MHz, while densities could reach 64 GB per single DIMM.

Lenovo will allegedly introduce Legion R7000 / R7000P gaming laptops powered by AMD's Renoir APUs up to the Ryzen 7 4800H SKU. Some improvements include DDR4-3200 RAM, double NVMe M.2 slots and 80 Wh+ batteries, but there are some downsides too, like the inclusion of displays with 120 Hz refresh, 45% NTSC color and high response times.

After a brief announcement earlier at CES 2020, Intel has now detailed the 10th gen Comet Lake-H processor lineup that is expected to make its way to more than 100 laptop designs this year. Comet Lake-H finally breaks the 5 GHz barrier at 45 W with four out of the six SKUs in the lineup touted to have a single-core boost at 5 GHz or above thanks to Thermal Velocity Boost. How well this works in real life depends on a lot on the OEM's cooling implementation and chassis construction.

We have exclusively obtained the first 3DMark synthetic benchmark results of NVIDIA's newly announced RTX 2070 Super and the new RTX 2060 Mobile GPUs. We find that the RTX 2070 Super Mobile trails behind the desktop RTX 2070 Super by about 10% overall. Interestingly, we find the new RTX 2060 Mobile to be appreciably faster in most tests compared to the original version and even outpacing the RTX 2070 Max-Q ever so slightly.

We got exclusive access to first benchmarks of the Intel Comet Lake-H Core i9-10880H, Core i7-10750H, and the Core i5-10300H. We compared single-core and multi-core performance of these chips with contemporary offerings from AMD viz. the Ryzen 9 4900HS and the Ryzen 7 4800H, and also 9th gen Coffee Lake-H Refresh CPUs. Although the scores further re-iterate Intel's lead in single-core performance, we see that AMD has successfully managed to narrow the gap significantly while maintaining good leads in multi-core tests.

The new Asus ROG Strix SCAR 17 laptop will grant a gamer's wishes with up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER GPU and Intel Core i9-10980HK CPU

Asus has announced the ROG Strix SCAR 17 laptop that can be configured with either an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER or RTX 2080 SUPER mobile GPU and features Intel’s new i9-10980HK processor. The gaming laptop also offers users ROG Boost for additional performance, and it will be configurable with up to a 300 Hz display. Prices start at €1,899 (~US$2,121) in Germany.

Gigabyte will be "Redefining Gaming Notebooks" as one of the first OEMs out of the gate with Core i7-10750H, Core i7-10875H, and unlocked Core i9-10980HK options later this month. Comparisons to the competing AMD Ryzen 4000 series, which will also be shipping out in the coming weeks, should prove to be interesting.

Had your fill of the GTX 16 series yet? Well, Gigabyte has gone and released a GDDR6 version of the GTX 1650. No, that is not a joke. The cards, as there are two of them, feature 4 GB of VRAM running at 12 Gbps. Presumably based on the TU117, the cards support 896 CUDA cores and a 128-bit memory bandwidth. Discovered by @momomo_us, the GDDR6 versions of the GTX 1650 are available to purchase now. Expect other AIBs to follow suit, too.
