Riders Republic Performance Analysis
Technology
The biggest draw of Riders Republic is the large world filled with hundreds of other players. The game features various climate zones (forest, snow, desert), which provide a lot of variety both in terms of gameplay and visuals. In addition to skiing, players can ride bikes and fly with the help of rocket-powered wingsuits.
Because Ubisoft is not known for making games with great vehicle handling (keyword: Watch Dogs), we were initially sceptical about Riders Republic. However, the steering feels decent (after you get used to it).
We have some criticism for the settings menu, which was definitely made with consoles in mind. When using a controller, there should not be any issues. Howbeit, navigating through the menus with the mouse and keyboard is no fun.
The graphics settings menu is very expansive. There are a whole lot of settings. While the upper section of the graphics menu contains settings for resolution, refresh rate, scaling, field of view, and V-Sync (including an optional FPS cap), the lower section includes many visual settings, all of which can be changed in one fell swoop thanks to the built-in presets.
Ubisoft provides information about what effect changing each setting will have on VRAM usage (this does not appear to be very accurate, though).
At high settings, the game looks quite decent (textures and effects stand out in particular). The draw distance is also very impressive, as are the snow tracks and weather events. Positive: The game only takes up 24 GB of storage space.
Benchmark
Ubisoft would not be Ubisoft if it did not provide a built-in benchmark. However, the benchmark is only available in-game (simply opening the settings menu after launch will not work). The benchmark sequence is two minutes long and consists of a panning shot across various vegetation zones.
As can be seen from the screenshots and the video below, an FPS counter is displayed during the benchmark. Upon completion of the benchmark, there is a detailed report which can be exported – praiseworthy.
Results
The benchmarks were conducted mainly using the laptops which our partners MSI and XMG (Schenker Technologies) lent us.
FHD (1920x1080)
The minimum system requirements of Riders Republic are quite low. At low resolutions and settings, Riders Republic can become bottlenecked by the CPU. If you want to play the game at 1080p and high settings you will need a mid-range GPU with 4 or 6 GB of VRAM. Such GPUs as the RX 5600M, GeForce GTX 1650 (Ti), and the GTX 1660 Ti can run Riders Republic at 1080p and a mix of medium to maximum settings without any issues.

QHD (2560x1440)
The title becomes quite demanding at 1440p. Here, you will need an RTX 3050 Ti or RTX 3060 for a decent gaming experience at maximum settings.

Note
Because benchmarking video games is very time consuming and is often constrained by installation/activation limits, at the time of publishing, we were able to provide only a part of our performance analysis of Riders Republic. Other graphics cards will be added in the coming days and weeks.
