Microsoft has announced a major update for the Surface Laptop Studio, its replacement for the Surface Book series. While the Surface Laptop Studio debuted in September, it has taken until now for Microsoft to enable a dynamic refresh rate.

Lenovo now claims to have ended its latest fiscal year (on March 31, 2022) with US$10 billion more in terms of revenue compared to the last. The company has also declared net profits of just over $2 billion (or 72% more year-on-year (YoY)). It attributes this success to pretty much all areas of its business, particularly its enterprise-focused and services arms.

A Ryzen 9-6900HX APU and GeForce RTX 3080-Ti Laptop GPU bring all the current games smoothly to the contrast-rich 4k display (16:10, IPS, 100% DCI-P3, FreeSync). They are accompanied by 4 TB of storage (RAID 0), 64 GB of working memory, and a surprisingly good battery life.

MSI has lifted the lid on a new Titan GT77, which it bills as a desktop replacement. Due to be released on June 7, MSI has teased Intel Alder Lake-HX series processors for the Titan GT77, which should be met by powerful GPUs like the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti.

HP has introduced an upgraded Pavilion x360 14, now based on Intel's Alder Lake platform. Equipped with Alder Lake-U series processors, the new Pavilion x360 14 also has an optional 5G modem, a 14-inch touchscreen display and B&O-branded speakers, among other features.

Xiaomi has introduced the RedmiBook Pro 15 2022 Ryzen Edition, a Ryzen 6000H counterpart to the Intel Alder Lake model that the company already sells. Available with the Ryzen 5 6600H or the Ryzen 7 6800H, the RedmiBook Pro 15 2022 Ryzen Edition also comes with an optional GeForce RTX 2050 GPU from NVIDIA's Ampere family.

The SSD controller on the PCIe 5.0 models is indeed producing more heat, but Apacer is not implementing active cooling just yet. Instead, the new NVMe 2.0 devices feature a hefty heatsink with aluminum fins or an ultra-thin graphene thermal pad for compact systems. Read speeds are expected to reach 13,000 MB/s and write speeds can top at 12,000 MB/s.

NVIDIA has come to Computex 2022 to show the latest Studio-approved PCs off, as well as what they can do with creator app from this OEM and its partners. They include the latest updates to Omniverse, a facility for 3D art or development, DaVinci Resolve 18, and the freshly-updated Studio Driver.

The device offers a military-grade magnesium alloy construction and enterprise-grade security.

ASUS has unveiled the B7402, an update to the ExpertBook B7 Flip. Update: ASUS has now confirmed that the new ExpertBook B7 Flip ships with Intel Alder Lake processors, ranging from the Core i5-1240P to the Core i7-1270P.

HP wants to squeeze as much performance into its small 14-inch Pavilion 14 series as possible. The Pavilion 14 Plus is coming on May 25th with high-end options like the Core i7-12700H and even a 2.8K OLED display with full DCI-P3 coverage.

The AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX APU with the RDNA2-based Radeon 680M iGPU has finally appeared on PassMark, despite being announced way back in January. The Zen 3+ chip managed higher single-thread and multi-test scores than the fastest Zen 3 counterpart, the Ryzen 9 5980HX. New information about the Surface Laptop Go 2 has emerged online. It is confirmed to run an Intel Core i5-1135G7 Tiger Lake processor, up to 8 GB RAM, 256 GB storage and a 12.4-inch screen. It will be announced in June 2022 for a starting price of US$650.

Huawei has introduced the MateBook 16s, a 16-inch laptop that takes several design cues from the latest MacBook Pro 16. The MateBook 16s comes with a choice of Intel Alder Lake-H processors, has a 3:2 touchscreen display and an 84 Wh battery, among other features.

Subnotebook is almost saying too much with a thickness of only 11mm and a weight of less than 900g. At the same time, the Galaxy Book2 is no modest laptop all thanks to its OLED display and powerful Intel i5-1240P. However, the combination of performance and compact size cannot function without limitations.

Corsair has unveiled its first-ever gaming laptop, the Voyager a1600. Its key specs include an AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS processor, Radeon RX 6800M GPU, a 16-inch 240Hz QHD+ screen, Cherry MX key switches, and a 99 Wh battery. Corsair will confirm its availability later and prices are set to start at US$2,700.

Acer has upgraded the TravelMate lineup of business laptops with the latest Intel 12th gen vPro and AMD Ryzen 6000 Pro processors. The TravelMate P2 is available in 14-inch and 15.6-inch versions while the TravelMate P4 and TravelMate Spin P4 come in 14-inch and 16-inch variants. All TravelMate models are Microsoft Secured-core PCs built with a focus on security and durability while using sustainable construction and packaging materials.

Yesterday, SK hynix has finally unleashed its first Gen 4.0 SSD with a 176-NAND layer, namely the Platinum P41. As unveiled back in early January, it is available in 500 GB, 1 TB, and 2 TB versions. The prices start at US$104.99 and go up to US$259.98, but the stock seems depleted already.

The IFA tech trade show is now set to return to an in-person format set in its traditional Berlin venue in 2022. The conference will take place at the start of September of this year. Its organizers are celebrating this announcement with early-bird prices on its tickets, although they are for only one of five of the event's scheduled days.

One-netbook has confirmed details about the T1, previously known as the VOYO VBook 2023. The One-netbook T1 will be available with an Intel Core i7-1260P processor, fast LPDDR5 RAM and M.2 2280 storage. The One-netbook T1 should be orderable later this month, starting at US$599.

With the first 2 nm chips planned for a 2025 release, TSMC could theoretically ready the 1.4 nm nodes by 2028. Samsung will most likely come up with a similar node around the same time, while Intel will try to get ahead of the game with the 20A and 18A nodes in 2025.

Xiaomi has dropped a teaser for the next version of the RedmiBook Pro 14 2022. Already available with Intel Alder Lake processors, Xiaomi is now giving the 14-inch laptop an AMD Ryzen refresh. This year's AMD Ryzen Edition will launch with H-series APUs too, upgrading the RedmiBook Pro 14 from Lucienne U-based APUs.

Gigabyte has refreshed the AORUS 17X, a 17.3-inch gaming laptop now powered by the Intel Core i9-12900HX. Also, the AORUS 17X is available with NVIDIA's RTX 3070 Ti or RTX 3080 Ti, both powered by a 99 Wh battery.

HP is offering an upgraded Envy x360 15.6-inch convertible in both Intel Alder Lake-P and AMD Barcelo-U options. The Intel variant offers a few extra goodies like optional QHD 120 Hz display and Thunderbolt 4 connectivity while the AMD variant makes do with up to an FHD OLED option. HP says that it has focused on collaborative features such as a 5 MP webcam and the HP Palette suite.

While only 15 W parts, the new Spectre x360 has a 66 Wh battery and an optional 3K OLED display. This year's Spectre x360 13 is orderable from today in the US, where it retails for US$1,249.99.

HP has unleashed a new version of the Envy 17, now available with up to a Core i7-1260P processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050 GPU. This year's HP Envy 17 starts at US$1,099.99 in the US and is orderable from today.

HP has introduced an Intel Alder Lake upgrade for the Envy x360 13, which also has a 16:10 display. Available with a Core i5-1230U or Core i7-1250U, the new HP Envy X360 13 starts at US$849.99 and has an optional 2.8K OLED display.

The Intel Core i9-12950HX has gone straight to the top of PassMark’s CPU single-thread performance chart for laptop processors. The power-hungry Alder Lake-HX chip managed to break the 4,000-point barrier, leaving the i9-12900H in second position. The i9-12950HX is capable of reaching a clock rate of 5.0 GHz.

We tried out the Asus Zenbook 14 Flip OLED and we were not only thrilled by the performance, but also by the excellent OLED panel, which is equipped with 90 Hz and 3K resolution. But what other advantages and disadvantages does the convertible conceal?

Acer announced a refreshed ConceptD 5 and ConceptD 5 Pro with upgrades to Intel Alder Lake-H Core i7 and a choice of RTX 3070 Ti or RTX A5500 Laptop GPUs. The new ConceptD 5 series is aimed at creators on the move with a larger touchpad, improved thermals, and a massive 99.98 Wh battery.

After a 2-year hiatus, MSI is going to reintroduce the Titan lineup with a new GT77 model that features Intel Alder Lake-HX processors coupled with Nvidia's RTX 3080 Ti dGPUs. MSI claims that this is the first model to feature 250 W total CPU+GPU power where dynamic boosting for the CPU can go up to 160 W.

Acer has brought its SpatialLabs glasses-free 3D stereoscopic display to the Predator Helios 300 SpatialLabs Edition. The stereoscopic 3D effect is achieved using a lenticular lens and the UHD display can be toggled between 2D and 3D modes. Acer said that more than 50 popular games are already supported for 3D viewing with more being continuously added.

Acer has unveiled the Aspire Vero 14 and Aspire Vero 15, a pair of laptops that rely on recycled plastic for much of their construction. Acer also equips the Vero 14 and Vero 15 with Intel Alder Lake processors, among other components. The Aspire Vero 14 and Vero 15 will be available this summer from US$749.99.

The Acer Predator Triton 300 SE is now configurable with Intel's newest Alder Lake processors, a 2.8K 16:10 OLED screen, and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060. It will hit shelves in June 2022 starting at €1,499 (US$1,575).

Acer has announced the Spin 3 (SP314-55/N), which will be available from June in Europe, but not until August in the US. The Spin 3 (SP314-55/N) comes with a 14-inch touchscreen, Intel Alder Lake processors and supports Acer's Active Stylus.
