AMD will not market its Cezanne U refresh under the Ryzen 6000 series. Instead, Barcelo APUs will fall under the Ryzen 5000 series, leaving the Rembrandt architecture as sole representatives of the Ryzen 6000 series. A Rembrandt APU has emerged on UserBenchmark, too.

Apple’s new M1 Pro and M1 Max silicon is incredibly powerful. Apple alluded to how it was able to scale these chips up from the M1 using what it called ‘fabric’. This fabric points the way to how Apple will further scale up its chip architecture for the Mac Pro.

Apple's proprietary USB-C to MagSafe 3 connector is required in order to fast charge the new 16-inch MacBook Pro that comes with a 140 W charger. Fast charging the MacBook Pro 16 via USB-C should be possible once USB-C to USB-C EPR cables become widely available.

The refreshed Juno lineup includes the budget-oriented 15-inch Nyx models with AMD Ryzen 7 5700U processors and integrated Vega 7 graphics, the Saturn mid-ranger with intel COre i7-11800H and RTX 3050 / 3050 Ti dGPU options, and the Neptune high-end solutions with i7-11800H and Max-Q variants of the RTX 3070 / 3080 dGPUs.

An Intel Alder Lake-P Core i9-12900H has been spotted in the Ashes of the Singularity database. The Core i9-12900H is a mobile Alder Lake part sporting 14 cores and 20 threads with six Golden Cove P-cores and eight Gracemont E-cores. Alder Lake-P will supplant the current Tiger Lake-H45 SKUs.

Apple also introduced the 16-inch MacBook Pro alongside the 14-inch MacBook Pro variant. Apple has announced upgrades to its M1 custom silicon in the form of the M1 Pro and M1 Max. The M1 Pro and M1 Max will feature in the new MacBook Pros and claim to offer performance that rivals current top-end x86 hardware. The M1 Max also seems to be nearly 1.6x larger than a Rocket Lake-S desktop die by some rough estimates making it one of the largest SoCs to power a laptop.

Apple made some bold claims about the performance of its new M1 Pro and M1 Max SoCs, including their graphics capabilities. A quick and dirty number crunch based on the known graphics performance of the M1 shows that those claims are likely justified.

Lenovo continues to teases the Yoga 16s 2022 on its Weibo channel. The company has now shared hands-on images and has confirmed that USB Type-C charging will be supported. The device will be available without a dedicated GPU, too.

Lenovo has started teasing the Yoga Pro 14s Carbon 2022, a 14-inch laptop with a slim design. The company claims that the machine relies on a carbon fibre and aluminium-magnesium alloy chassis, which reduces its weight by 23% relative to the Yoga 14s. As a result, the Yoga Pro 14s Carbon 2022 weighs just over 1 kg. The device may feature AMD Ryzen APUs, too.

Luna Display has added support for using an iPad with a Windows PC. The company originally offered the functionality for Macs and iPads but Apple subsequently ‘sherlocked’ the feature in macOS Catalina with its Sidecar functionality.

The refreshed SX models are powered by the i7-1195G7 processors with PCIe 4.0 and Thunderbolt 4 support. VAIO managed to retain the same thickness and weight from the previous generation, despite the addition of larger batteries, and other premium features from the Z series like the prop-up mechanism, an FHD camera with IR sensor, and fingerprint sensor integrated in the power. Dell has announced the Latitude 5430 Rugged, a 14-inch semi-rugged laptop designed for working in harsh environments. The Latitude 5430 Rugged offers several Intel Tiger Lake choices along with optional Nvidia Quadro T500 graphics. The laptop also offers 5G connectivity and is FirstNet Ready for connectivity during emergencies.

Dell has announced the Latitude 7330 Rugged Extreme, which it claims to be the smallest 13-inch rugged laptop with 5G connectivity. The Latitude 7330 Rugged Extreme is powered by Intel Tiger Lake processors and is meant for the toughest jobs in harsh environments. The device is IP65-rated and tested to match MIL-STD-810H specifications.

Acer has unveiled the Predator GD711 as its new "smart projector" for gaming. It is rated to throw HDR10 content at "high dynamic contrast" and a wide color gamut, at a brightness of up to 4,000 LED lumens. The projector is compatible with PCs or consoles, offering a high refresh rate on either platform.

The Acer Aspire Vero laptop's price and availability in Europe have been revealed. It will be available for purchase in November 2021 for EUR 799. Its key specs include a 15.6-inch IPS LCD panel, 11th-generation Intel Tiger Lake processors, 16GB RAM and Wi-Fi 6.

Acer has introduced the TravelMate Vero, a sustainable variant to the TravelMate business laptop segment. The TravelMate Vero is made of 30% PCR plastic and comes in a 100% recyclable packaging. The laptop is powered by Intel 11th gen Tiger Lake CPUs and will allow businesses to customize the boot up screen with their own corporate logos.

Rumors have started running amok following the announcement of the upcoming Apple event. Most expect Cupertino to reveal the M1X MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16 at the event, and many leakers have been doubling down on older tips or even revealing new ones, such as the perturbing possibility that the 2021 MacBook Pro may even have a notched display.

The L21 PRO models offer significant upgrades over the early 2021 variants, including the Intel Core i7-11800H processors, a Thunderbolt 4 port, a PCIe 4.0 X16 slot for the RTX 3070/3080 dGPUs and an M.2 PCIe 4.0 X4 slot for storage solutions, plus a MUX switch for external displays. XMG removed the microSD card reader, on the other hand.

A shift in the availability of Intel-based 16-inch Apple MacBook Pro devices has led to the speculation that the expected launch of the M1X MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16 could take place within the next two weeks. However, the apparent disappearance of the Intel MacBook Pro 16 might be down to a much more prosaic reason.

The Core i7-1270P has emerged on Geekbench, one of Intel's upcoming Alder Lake-P processors. The 12-core and 16-thread processor has been spotted in a Samsung Galaxy Book laptop, although its performance is nothing to write home about yet.

HP now has two gaming laptop lineups on offer. The existing Omen series now includes a 16-inch model and competes with the recently released budget model Victus 16. It succeeded in that aspect in our review, but there are minor limitations.
