Initial single-core performance numbers from an Intel Rocket Lake-S Core i9-11900K QS indicate up to 33% higher scores than a Core i9-10900K and up to 7% more performance than an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X despite sub-optimal cooling. Also being leaked are clocks and power info of several ES variants including the Core i7-11700 ES1, Core i7-11700K ES2, and the Core i9-11900 ES2.

MSI has started rolling out a new AGESA update for its B550 and X570 motherboards, enabling Resizable BAR support for older Ryzen systems, as well as NVIDIA Ampere GPUs.

Several Mi Notebook Pro listings have popped-up on Geekbench sporting both Tiger Lake-H and AMD Cezanne processors. Alongside the Intel Core i7-11370H and Core i5-11300H variants, which are 35 W Tiger Lake-H CPUs, a few listings of the Mi Notebook Pro powered by AMD Cezanne Ryzen 5 5600H APUs are also seen. These leaked results indicate that single-core performance seems to be a prime focus for both Intel and AMD.

The 14-inch Lenovo IdeaPad 5 with AMD Ryzen 7 4700U is currently available at a price of US$599 at Walmart. Not only does the Lenovo IdeaPad 15 thin and light laptop sport a terrific 8-core Renoir Ryzen 4000 chip, but it also comes with a 256 GB SSD. Lenovo is offering the IdeaPad Flex 14 AMD 2-in-1 variant at a similar price.

Gigabyte is planning on releasing a Ryzen 5000 laptop in the form of the upcoming Gigabyte A7 that features an AMD Ryzen 5800H and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060. On top of that, the Taiwanese manufacturer will also be offering Comet Lake-H G5 and G7 laptops with the 15.6-inch model sporting a 240 Hz-capable display.

Once again, Honor squeezes everything out from an AMD processor. However, the MagicBook 14 is also an excellent laptop apart from the processor performance.

When we reviewed the Lenovo ThinkPad E14 and ThinkPad T14, the AMD SKU managed to outperform the Intel SKU. Today, we take a closer look at the ThinkPad L14 and ask ourselves the question: Will the story continue, or is Intel going to make a comeback?

CPU-Z and Cinebench results of what appears to be an engineering sample of Intel's upcoming Rocket Lake-S processor have leaked online. The preliminary results do not indicate much of an advantage over the Core i7-10700K yet as the sample has locked frequencies. These results also show considerable advantage the Ryzen 7 5800X has at the moment in both single and multi-core loads.

The November 2020 Steam Hardware & Software Survey shows AMD reaching a new level of popularity in regard to processor usage. Team Red’s latest share was recorded as 26.91%, and with numerous Ryzen 5000 gaming laptops already coming out of the woodwork, it seems the upward trend will continue for the foreseeable future.

Leaked roadmaps point to a busy 2021 and 2022 for both Intel and AMD. In 2021, we can expect to see Intel offering Rocket Lake-S and Comet Lake-Refresh parts alongside Tiger Lake-H. This will be followed by corresponding Alder Lake parts in 2022. AMD will introduce Cezanne, Lucienne, and Van Gogh APUs next year. Raphael in 2022 will be a Zen 4 mainstream part with integrated RDNA2 graphics and will be complemented by Rembrandt, Barcelo-U, and Dragon Crest on the laptop side.

An AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX mobile APU has been spotted inside an Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 SE laptop churning out some impressive Geekbench results. In fact, the Ryzen 9 5900HX can even outsprint a powerful desktop rival in the form of the Intel Core i7-10700K. The Cezanne Zen 3 Ryzen 5000 processor reached a clock rate of 4.74 GHz.

The blog CoreTeks claims to have sifted the release notes for AMD's latest firmware patches for some nuggets of potential gold on this company's upcoming high-performance GPUs and APUs. They include at least 1 Rembrandt variant, as well as the successor to the MI100 Instinct. They are thought to be based on the Zen3 and RDNA 3 IPs respectively.

One of the upcoming Asus laptops appears to be a refreshed VivoBook Flip 14 convertible.

An Asus TUF Gaming laptop has been spotted on a German retail website sporting the enviable team of an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H APU and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Mobile GPU. The 17.3-inch device also comes with 8 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, and a Full HD resolution for the display. The Ryzen 7 5800H is an 8-core, 16-thread part that can boost to 4.3 GHz.

Following initial reports about the upcoming AMD EPYC Milan 7713, tipster @ExecuFix shared Cinebench R23 scores for what appears to be a dual-socket configuration, which dominates both EPYC Rome and Intel's Xeon Platinum 9282.

Asus has revealed its ROG Strix LC Radeon RX 6900 XT graphics card with the appropriate tagline “a liquid-cooled leviathan”. The Huawei MateBook 14 still relies on Intel Comet Lake. The outdated 14-nanometer chips can't convince in our test in terms of CPU performance; the MateBook 14 AMD is vastly better with its Ryzen 4000 processor. The Intel CPU only shows its strengths when it comes to battery life.

The new Ruby and Topaz mini PC lineups are practically indistinguishable on the outside, as they both feature the proprietary Universal Chassis. As far as specs go, the Ruby systems can be equipped with up to a Ryzen 7 4800U APU, while the Topaz models can be powered by up to an i7-1165G7 CPU. AMD is reportedly discontinuing production of reference Radeon RX 6000 cards, which means that many gamers will never be able to own a Made by AMD Big Navi card. The AMD Radeon RX 6700M series will have larger dies than the RX 5700 XT, according to a new report. The new AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT graphics card has been popping up in various reviews, and in one particularly grueling test the Navi 21 part showed off its exemplary average power consumption in gaming. Lenovo's 14-inch notebook features a powerful Ryzen 7 4700U APU with NVMe SSD and offers decent battery life. Noise and temperature emissions are fairly low for a device this thin.

The Ryzen 9 5900HX has hit Geekbench, confirming several aspects of the upcoming Zen 3 and Cezanne APUs. The 8-core APU will be part of a new series for AMD, and one that may overclockable.

Launched earlier this year with a starting price tag of US$539, the AMD Athlon Silver 3050e-powered Lenovo ThinkCentre M75n Nano IoT ultra-slim desktop PC was designed to fit on the back of ThinkVision T/P series monitors and its price exceeded US$500. AMD could be offering several Navi 23 and Navi 24 mobile GPUs with a sub-100 W TGP target to power gaming laptops next year. Navi 23 may be offered in three TGP variants topping at 90 W while Navi 24 will come in two SKUs — one with a cTGP up to 50 W and another, a low-power variant at 25 W TGP.

Several Asus ROG Zephyrus configurations powered by AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS and 5900HX APUs have surfaced online. The 5900HX could be an unlocked overclockable variant of the 5900H. The configs also list NVIDIA's upcoming mobile RTX 30 Ampere GPUs including the mobile RTX 3080, RTX 3070, and RTX 3060 Max-Q along with a Quadro RTX 3000 SKU.

Geekbench entries pertaining to upcoming Microsoft Surface products have surfaced online. The Surface Laptop 4 is expected to be powered by an AMD Ryzen Renoir custom APU and the scores seem to reflect the improved performance compared to the previous generation. An entry for a likely Surface Pro 8 device powered by the Core i7-1185G7 is also seen.

It is quite ironic how AMD's Smart Access Memory (aka Resizable BAR) could help Intel and Nvidia regain some lost market shares. AMD offered to help its competitors with the Resizable BAR feature, yet Team Red may have hit a stone wall with the SAM support for Ryzen 3000 and older Zen-based CPUs. On the other hand, Intel-based motherboards supporting 6-year-old CPUs from the Haswell era have no problem benefiting from the Resizable BAR feature, and Nvidia is soon adding support for it, as well.
