We are finally starting to see some more AMD Advantage Edition laptops powered by AMD’s Radeon RX 6000M GPUs and Ryzen 5000H CPUs. Since AMD is about to launch the RX 6600M and RX 6700M GPUs, MSI is now announcing its new budget-oriented thin and light Delta 15 models along with the revamped Alpha 15 / 17 powered by the new mobile GPUs from Team Red.
MSI’s Delta 15 laptops integrate more advanced specs like the Ryzen 9 5900HX processor, the Radeon RX 6700M GPU and a 240 Hz 1080p display packed in a 19 mm 1.9 kg chassis , while the Alpha 15 / 17 models only include up to a Ryzen 7 5800H processor complimented by the RX 6600M GPU hooked to a 144 Hz 1080p display, plus slightly bulkier redesigned chassis with improved cooling.
Otherwise, the two series offer mostly the same specs such as upgradable RAM up to 64 GB DDR4-3200, 2x NVMe M.2 PCIe 3 x4 slots, and HD webcam, RGB backlit keyboards and 2x 2W stereo speakers with Nahimic 3 audio. Port selection includes 1x USB-C 3.2 Gen1 with DP mode, 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen1, 1x USB 2.0, HDMI 2.0b video output and the usual audio combo jack. The Delta 15 is also missing the GbE jack, but both series feature Wi-Fi 6 + BT 5.2.
