The Radeon RX 5500M is aging poorly when compared to the mobile GeForce GTX 1650, 1650 Ti, or 1660 Ti all of which can be found at similar prices of well under $1000 USD. The recently released RTX 3050 is another nail in the coffin for AMD's mobile RDNA GPU.

Sam's Club is currently offering the MSI Bravo 15 for $100 USD off the original price. The Bravo 15 is a budget 15.6-inch gaming laptop powered by AMD processors in contrast to the ocean of Intel or Nvidia alternatives.

Unfortunately, even the sale price isn't enough to make the Bravo 15 a strong recommendation. While its Ryzen 5 5600H CPU is not bad, its Radeon RX 5500M GPU is outdated and only comparable to more power-efficient GeForce GTX 1650 or 1650 Ti laptops that can be found at similar prices. Gaming performance is therefore not all that special for what you'd be paying.

A better alternative to the Bravo 15 would be the Asus TUF FX506 with Core i5-11260H and GeForce RTX 3050 GPU as found here for the exact same price of $799. Its CPU is roughly comparable to the Ryzen 5 5600H while the Nvidia GPU is newer, faster, and more efficient. Users would be sacrificing half the RAM and the 144 Hz refresh rate of the Bravo 15, but the Asus will have the longer legs for gaming regardless. Its limited RAM can be expanded upon as well at a later date.
