Leaked OnePlus 7 concept shows striking resemblance to the Google Pixel 6
Google unveiled its upcoming flagship handset, the Pixel 6, last week. The phone has generally been hailed as sporting an impressive design that deviates from the current market trend but it appears that design isn't as groundbreaking as some would think.
A new leak has revealed the original concept of what was to be the OnePlus 7, and the images show a phone that bears a striking resemblance to the new Pixel 6 series. Seeing as the OnePlus 7 series was released in 2019—the poster claims it was designed in 2018, even—it's deducible that Google likely copied some part of its homework from the Chinese company.
One must question why OnePlus ditched this design in favor of what it finally went with on the OnePlus 7. While the OnePlus 7's design was never considered to be poor, it does lack character when compared to the concept shown here. It's also a bit curious that this image has only just surfaced after the unveiling of the Pixel 6, but that's a story for another day.
