Valve finally shipped its Steam Deck handheld console to users in early 2022. While handheld gaming PCs have existed for quite some time, the Steam Deck is in a class of its own and is setting the example for what a mobile gaming computer can look like.

Advanced Semiconductor Engineering (ASE), AMD, Arm, Google Cloud, Intel Corporation, Meta, Microsoft Corporation, Qualcomm Incorporated, Samsung, and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company today announce the formation of the UCIe industry consortium that will establish a die-to-die interconnect standard and foster an open chiplet ecosystem.

The Lenovo Flex 5 is a good all-around budget laptop. Thanks to its AMD Ryzen 5 5500U and RX Vega 7 GPU, it can handle most everyday tasks and some light gaming. It's currently on sale at Amazon for US$600, which is $250 below its MSRP of $850.

Benchmarks from an Asus ROG Flow X13 featuring the AMD Ryzen 7 6800HS have leaked online. Compared to the Core i9-12900H in the ROG Flow Z13, the Ryzen 7 6800HS trails considerably. Lenovo has announced the IdeaPad Flex 5, a 14-inch or 16-inch Windows laptop powered by AMD Zen 3 APUs. The IdeaPad Flex 5 also has various display options, including a 2.5K panel that offers 100% sRGB colour space coverage. Lenovo will start selling the IdeaPad Flex 5 in May from €549.

Huawei has released the MateStation X in Europe, an all-in-one desktop computer that combines the MateView monitor with a powerful computer. The MateStation X starts at €2,199 in the Eurozone and is available with up to a Ryzen 7 5800H APU.

Lenovo is introducing a redesigned IdeaPad Gaming series at MWC 2022. Multiple industry insiders and Twitter users have speculated that TSMC has run into several snags with its upcoming N3 process node. Hence, AMD may have to fabricate its Ryzen 8000 Zen 5 processors and Radeon RX 8000 RDNA 4 graphics cards on TSMC's 4 nm process.

UserBenchmark has confirmed that the EliteBook 835 G9 will ship with AMD Ryzen PRO 6000U processors, potentially up to the Ryzen 7 PRO 6850U. The EliteBook 835 G9 should be available in April alongside other EliteBook refreshes.

ASUS has opened pre-orders for the latest version of the ROG Zephyrus G14, which relies on AMD Ryzen 6000 and Radeon RX 6000 hardware. The ROG Zephyrus G14 (2022) is available with up to a Ryzen 9 6900HS and Radeon RX 6800S, but ASUS has made other improvements to its 14-inch gaming laptop too.

AMD has finally presented more details about the Ryzen 6000 series for laptops, a month after it unveiled the series at CES 2022. Ryzen 6000 mobile APUs include the economical Ryzen 6600U up to the Ryzen 9 6980HS and Ryzen 9 6980HX. Purportedly, AMD's latest laptop APUs should consume less power than their Intel Alder Lake counterparts while still delivering excellent iGPU performance.

As of February 15 2022, AMD is commanding a total market cap of US$197.75 billion helped by the Xilinx merger, whereas Intel's market cap is now sitting at $197.24 billion. AMD's share price also spiked to US$121, while Intel's share price dropped to US$48.

An Asus Zephyrus G14 powered by the AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS and Radeon RX 6800S has surfaced on Geekbench and PugetBench. In Geekbench CPU tests, the Ryzen 9 6900HS is found to offer decent leads over an average Ryzen 9 5900HS. The Ryzen 9 6900Hs and Radeon RX 6800S combination seems to augur well for creative workloads when compared to a ROG Flow Z13 powered by the Intel Core i9-12900H and Nvidia RTX 3080 despite constrained power limits.

According to insider sources, the RX 6x50 XT refresh would include RX 6950 XT, RX 6750 XT and RX 6650 XT SKUs, but no RX 6850 XT. The new GPUs are rumored to get upgraded with 18 Gbps GDDR6 VRAM and the high-end cards would also see a TGP bump.

The OEM-only AMD Athlon Gold PRO 4150GE has been put through the paces on Geekbench. The four-core, four-thread budget APU scores 1,098 and 3,728 on the single and multi-core tests, respectively.
