The Surface Pro is Microsoft's flagship convertible, and the ninth generation now offers Wi-Fi 6E and a leap in performance thanks to the Alder Lake CPU, but other features such as the optional LTE modem or the audio jack have been omitted. This doesn't make the device any better.

Lenovo has announced a refresh of the Yoga 13w Gen 2, a 13.3-inch convertible laptop that will be soon available with AMD Ryzen 7000 APUs. The Yoga 13w Gen 2 also has a 51 Wh battery, plenty of ports and a 16:10 aspect ratio, among other features.

Amazon US has reduced the price of the LG Gram 16T90Q, a 16-inch 2-in-1 laptop that LG released last year. Currently available at a 33% discount, the model combines a 2.5K display with an Intel Core i7-1260P processor, 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a 2 TB SSD.

The Samsung Galaxy Book3 Pro 360 specifications have been leaked, as have the screen sizes for the numerous laptops that will be joining the Galaxy Book3 Pro 360 at the ironically packed Unpacked event. The Galaxy Book3, Galaxy Book3 Pro, Galaxy Book3 360, and Galaxy Book3 Ultra are all expected to make an appearance.

If you view the ExpertBook B6 Flip as a convertible, you probably have the heaviest device in its class. Even as a workstation, the device is large and incredibly powerful. This is primarily due to the extreme cooling that takes up a lot of space in the large case.

HP's 2-in-1 device offers an Alder Lake CPU, two Thunderbolt 4 slots, and a 3k touchscreen display (16 inches) in the more work-friendly 16:10 format. The touchscreen can be operated with the fingers as well as with the included HP Tilt Pen.

ASUS has presented the Chromebook CM14 series, which consists of the Chromebook CM14 and Chromebook CM14 Flip. Both powered by the MediaTek Kompanio 520 chipset, the pair also have a 14-inch displays and numerous ports, among other features.

Lenovo has refreshed the Yoga 9i convertible at CES 2023. The new Yoga 9i (14", 8) now features an Intel Raptor Lake-U Core i7-1360P processor, but there's no dGPU option available. Lenovo continues to offer Dolby Vision HDR OLED panels with the Yoga 9i including 4K and 2.8K options.

Lenovo has introduced the Yoga 6 Gen 8, a 13-inch convertible powered by AMD Ryzen 7000 APUs. The Yoga 6 Gen 8 also has a 16:10 display, a 59 Wh battery and plenty of ports considering its form factor.

The ThinkBook Plus Twist is a convertible with a difference. Not only can its 13.3-inch OLED display be used in multiple modes, but so can its secondary E-Ink display. The ThinkBook Plus Twist will be available this summer with a choice of Intel Raptor Lake U-series processors, plus up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 1 TB of PCIe 4.0 storage.

Lenovo is equipping the Yoga Book 9i thin and light convertibles with dual-13-inch 2.8K OLED touchscreens, up to an i7-1355U Intel Raptor Lake ULV processor, 16 GB LPDDR5X RAM, up to 1 TB NVMe SSD storage and no less than three Thunderbolt 4 ports.

LG has announced its laptop lineup for 2023, with the new LG gram Ultraslim and LG gram Style devices coming with OLED panels. Joining the gram Ultraslim laptop and the pair of gram Style notebooks is LG’s refreshed lineup of gram 17, 16, 15, and 14 devices and new 2-in-1 machines. All of LG’s new releases come with 13th Gen Intel Core processors.

ASUS has announced the Chromebook Vibe CX34 Flip, a 14-inch convertible Chromebook marketed for cloud gaming. Available later this year from €799 in the Eurozone, the Chromebook Vibe CX34 Flip has a 144 Hz display and up to 10 hours of battery life, among other features.

ASUS has upgraded the ROG Flow Z13, its 13.4-inch gaming 2-in-1. Now available with up to an Intel Core i9-13900H, the ROG Flow Z13 (2023) also contains an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 GPU and a 2.5K display with a 165 Hz refresh rate, which are all powered by a 56 Wh battery.

Samsung is expected to introduce a refreshed Galaxy Book 3 lineup alongside the Galaxy S23 series in early February. The first leaked images of the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra, Galaxy Book 3 Pro, and the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 indicate an all-metal chassis and USB Type-C connectivity. Specifications are not fully clear, but an upgrade to Intel Raptor Lake processors is likely in tow.

Powered by the Intel Core M3-8100Y processor and equipped with 8 GB of memory and 64 GB of rather slow eMMC storage, the Asus Chromebook Flip C434 also sports a 14-inch FHD touchscreen display. The Amazon list price of US$539.99 is now down by 52%, so those interested can grab this Chrome OS convertible for US$259.99.

The Robo & Kala is a Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3-based 2-in-1 with an AMOLED display. Running Windows 11, the Robo & Kala also contains a magnetic keyboard that you can use via Bluetooth or a physical connection. The Robo & Kala starts at US$799 with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage.

Most new ultrabooks may have sacrificed some ports in order to get to CES 2023 as thin and light as possible. The new 500 USB Type-C Universal Dock can augment those PCs to USB ports aplenty, dual 10 gigabit per second (Gb/s) type-Cs included. Lenovo thus touts the new accessory as a perfect companion to one of its new IdeaPad laptops.

Lenovo has introduced a new and smaller version of its IdeaPad Flex 3i Chromebook as part of its CES 2023 showcase. Its 16:10 FHD IPS display is rated to stay on for up to 12 hours, thanks to its low-power OS and new Intel N-series platforms. The 2-in-1 is thus touted for easy transitions between the home office and working on the go.

OnePlus has unveiled plans for a move into PC accessories today (December 17, 2022) as part of its ninth anniversary event. The well-known mobile device brand has outlined plans to make its own mechanical keyboard, complete with its own custom switches and gaskets. They are touted to fit into a "meticulously crafted" metallic casing for a unique typing experience.

At just under 34 dB(A) at its loudest, the HP convertible is significantly quieter than most other Core U-powered subnotebooks by wide margins. You'd have to consider the MacBook Air M2 if you want something even quieter.

The surprisingly smooth operation, comfortable keyboard, accurate touchscreen, and good equipment are enjoyable in laptop as well as tablet mode. Compared to that, the weaknesses are not that grave, particularly for consumer use.

Apple may indeed be working with Korean OLED display suppliers on testing a foldable 20.25-inch screen panel to gauge the concept's viability for a future MacBook. When bent, the screen half that would serve as the display of a regular laptop, could form a 15.3-inch diagonal, but the release date is still far away.

Fyde Innovations has brought the Fydetab Duo to Indiegogo, where it starts at £489. Having already exceeded its campaign goal, Fyde Innovations aims to start shipping the Fydetab Duo globally from January 2023.

Black Friday 2022 might be over, but the deals are still going on at Lenovo's US store online. They include discounts of 60% or more on certain ThinkPads, even a SKU of the X1 Carbon Gen 10. The AMD-based Yoga 6 is also nearly 40% off, whereas the Tab P11 Pro Gen 2 is about to drop to under US$300 imminently.

Expect performance to be almost identical to the Core i5-1235U and the integrated Iris Xe 80 EUs even though the Core i7-1260U and its Iris Xe 96 EUs may sound faster on paper.

Microsoft continues to improve the repairability of the Surface Pro series. While the Surface Pro 7 was one of the least repairable devices when it arrived two years ago, the Surface Pro 9 makes improvements in all areas. Microsoft plans to offer spare parts and repair guides for its latest Surface Pro within the next few months too.

Dere has introduced the T30 Pro, a Windows tablet that supports a detachable keyboard and pen input. Considering the T30 Pro's price, it is surprising to see Dere include a high-resolution and fast OLED display, as well as a keyboard cover and up to 1 TB of storage.

The Summit E16 Flip offers a 16-inch touchscreen display in the 16:10 format, Thunderbolt 4, and a dedicated GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU. The touchscreen can be operated with fingers as well as the included MSI input pen.

After a successful crowdfunding campaign, One-netbook has started selling its Surface Pro 9 competitor again. Available with the Core i5-1240P or the Core i7-1260P, the OneNetbook T1 also comes with 16 GB of RAM and up to 2 TB of storage.

With the Zenbook 17 Fold, Asus has released the first large foldable convertible, which - as it turns out in our review - is a concept that integrates well into practical use. There are of course some technological challenges, but the biggest problem is the high price of 3,499 USD.

The year is 2022 and Windows laptops with just 8 GB of non-removable RAM are still a thing, apparently. If your daily workloads are particularly light and undemanding, then this deal might be of interest.

Microsoft has lifted the lid on the Surface Pro 9 5G, a successor to the Surface Pro X. While the Surface Pro 9 5G does not come cheap, it features numerous upgrades over the Surface Pro X, including a more powerful chipset and a much faster display.

Microsoft has presented the Surface Pro 9, a new take on the Surface Pro series. Equipped with either the Core i5-1235U or the Core i7-1255U, the Surface Pro 9 is available in four colours, up to 1 TB of storage and 32 GB of LPDDR5 RAM. Prices start at US$999, while pre-orders will begin shipping from October 25 in the US.

According to new reports, it seems less and less likely that Microsoft will release the Surface Laptop 5 13.5 or Surface Laptop 5 15 with AMD Ryzen APUs. Instead, both laptops could feature the same Intel Alder Lake-U series processors as the Surface Pro 9. An apparent leaked marketing image points to little visual updates for this year's Surface Laptop series too.

Offered by the FydeOS developing team, the 12.35-inch FydeTab Duo convertible will be equipped with a Rockchip 3588S ARM-based SoC complemented by 8 GB of LPDDR4X and up to 128 GB eMMC storage. It is scheduled to soon go up for pre-orders via a crowdfunding campaign.

Samsung Display's culmination of rollable OLED screens research was showcased in the form of a 'slidable screen for PC' that extends from a 13-inch to a 17-inch device. Its CEO said that Samsung is working with Intel on adding value to the fresh form factor with new interface modes.
