The product design relationship between Apple and Jony Ive has finally come to an end. Intel’s 13th gen “Raptor Lake” processors are scheduled to launch later this year. Now a leaked roadmap suggests that Intel is planning to outfit the next-generation NUC Extreme desktop kits with the 13th gen chips. Codenamed “Raptor Canyon”, the NUC 13 Extreme will pack up to a 13th gen Core i9 CPU.

SilverStone has introduced the ECS07, an unusual device that resembles a thick SSD. However, the SilverStone ECS07 brings expands SATA 3.0 connectivity within a small form factor. The SilverStone ECS07 supports five SATA 3.0 ports running at 6 Gbps each; pricing has not been announced yet.

The first samples of the Apple M2 have made their way onto the PassMark website, where the new Apple silicon has been lumped into the desktop CPU class. Origin PC has seemingly built the ultimate gaming machine in the form of its one-off Big O V3 custom PC. RAM specs will be upgraded to DDR5-5600, yet budget motherboards may still offer DDR4-3200 support. The Raptor Lake desktop platform will support additional PCIe 4.0 lanes to compensate.

A new leak suggests that the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 will operate at a base clock speed of 2,235 MHz. Boost clocks are set at 2,520 MHz and could go as high as 2,750 MHz.

Samsung has announced that it has successfully begun the process of manufacturing its inaugural chips of a 3 nanometer (3nm) architecture, projected to become the cutting edge of consumer processing power in 2023. The OEM already claims that its first-gen 3nm silicon is capable of performance that is over 20% improved compared to that of its 5nm predecessor, with a ~50% boost to power-efficiency on top of that.

With the growing inflation and the uncertainties brought by the Ukrainian war, Smartphones and PC components are not selling that well anymore, so Apple, AMD and Nvidia are now forced to scale back their chip orders from TSMC, which, in turn, might not see soaring revenues as previously projected in early 2022.

According to tipster @OneRaichu, Intel's new ETVB (Efficient Thermal Velocity Boost) technology could help at least one Raptor Lake chip breach 6 GHz. Lending credence to this claim, Intel's XTU overclocking utility was recently updated with "future platform" support for ETVB.

Huawei has introduced the MateStation X in the UK, nearly four months after its European introduction at MWC 2022 in Barcelona. Only available in one configuration, the MateStation X combines Huawei's MateView display with a powerful 45 W APU.

New AMD Ryzen 7000 leaks have detailed the potential launch line-up for the upcoming Zen 4 desktop parts, a possible release date, and even a supposed price tag for the top-end Ryzen 9 7950X. It seems there won’t be an AMD Ryzen 7 7700X at launch time, with the series arguably emulating the Zen 3 Ryzen 5000 staggered release schedule.

Spiders Games has opened up pre-orders for its upcoming Soulslike title Steelrising. The game borrows heavily from Bloodborne and is set in French Revolution-era Paris. It will be available to play on September 8.

Twitter leaker Greymon55 has heard from reliable sources that AMD could unveil the first Radeon RX 7000 series graphics card sometime between late October and November 2022.
