MSI has introduced a new version of the MAG META S. Available for £999 in the UK, the new MAG META S utilises the Ryzen 5 5660X, an AMD A520 chipset, the GTX 1660 SUPER and 16 GB of RAM, among other features.

MSI has presented the fifth-generation version of the MAG META S, which the company also calls the MAG META S 5th. According to the company, the new MAG META S only comes with the Ryzen 5 5600X and an AMD A520 chipset. As such, the PC supports DDR4 RAM, rather than the new DDR5 standard.

Underlining its now budget set-up is the GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER, a TU116-based graphics card built around a 12 nm manufacturing process. Additionally, the GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER has 1,408 shader units, a 125 W TDP and 6 GB of GDDR6 VRAM operating on a 192-bit memory bus at 14 Gbps. Additionally, MSI includes one M.2 2280 slot, as well as 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch drive bays. Moreover, the machine features the following ports:

  • 3x Audio jacks
  • 1x DVI-D out
  • 1x HDMI 1.4
  • 2x PS/2
  • 1x RJ45
  • 2x USB 2.0 Type-A
  • 4x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A

Furthermore, the 185 x 480 x 422 mm machine has a 500 W PSU and relies on air cooling. As MSI's marketing images show, the MAG META S utilises RGB LEDs which run down the centre of the front panel. For some reason, MSI does not confirm pricing on its website. However, Currys currently sells the desktop in the UK for £999, including VAT and delivery.
