Atari's VCS game console is now available for pre-order from Atari, Walmart, and GameStop. The console starts at US $249 and comes in a two models with three different designs (depending on retailer). Walmart and GameStop are expected to ship pre-orders in March 2020.

Socket AM4 has proven to be hugely successful for AMD primarily due to the compatibility it offers with all Ryzen CPUs to date including the new Ryzen 3rd generation processors. AMD says that the AM4 socket will continue for the foreseeable future until there is a major inflection point in the platform.

As expected, AMD introduced the 16-core 32-thread Ryzen 9 3950X at E3 2019. The Ryzen 9 3950X offers HEDT-level performance for mainstream gamers and content creators with a boost clock of 4.7 GHz and a TDP of 105W. AMD also showed off some performance numbers for the 3950X that can give quite a complex for Intel's HEDT offerings.

There’s a possibility that the Dell XPS 15 series will eventually offer consumers a choice of a mobile processor from AMD’s Ryzen 3000 range. Although nothing concrete has been offered in terms of details or plans yet, the likelihood of an XPS 15 laptop taking advantage of Zen+ microarchitecture in the future is growing.

Confirmed specifications and expected MSRPs for the Ryzen 3 3200G and Ryzen 5 3400G have apparently been leaked. An AMD Ryzen 5 3600 was shown to beat the Intel Core i7-8700 in a leaked PUBG benchmark over at the Chiphell forum. There’s good news for those waiting for the latest version of Dell’s renowned XPS 15 lineup. Company executive Frank Azor has revealed that the new XPS 15 7590 is coming this month. Although it appears this year’s refresh is relatively minor, there are still plenty who would like to enjoy the OLED option on the popular Dell laptop.

Although recent BIOS updates for X370- and X470-based mainboards were supposed to include PCIe Gen 4 support, AMD's Robert Hallock has just confirmed on Reddit that this option will not be available in the final firmware releases for 3rd generation Ryzen (AGESA 1000+). A couple of photos of an AMD Navi chip and a Ryzen 3000 series processor have been published by a Japanese website. After months of rumors and leaks, the physical products are finally available to see. The Ryzen 9 3900X is easily distinguishable with its chiplet design. The rear sides of the processors show Navi’s smaller ball grid array.

AMD’s CEO, Lisa Su, has managed to allay concerns that development of 3rd Gen Ryzen Threadripper processors has been abandoned. An AMD Investor Presentation from March had the vaunted HEDT chips included in the 2019 AMD client lineup. However, May’s presentation removed the next-gen Threadripper from the roadmap.

The rumored 16-core Ryzen 9 CPU was tested behind-the-scenes at Computex by a group of overclockers, who managed to push the processor to 4.25 GHz on water cooling. Thus, the 16-core CPU that is rumored to cost around US$800 managed to score slightly higher than Intel's 18-core i9-9980XE priced at US$2,000.

Instead of being announced at Computex, the new ZenBook 14 Flip powered by AMD's Ryzen 5 3500U only made a discrete appearance on Amazon France. The apparent price-performance ratio of the Zen 2 chip appears to be impressively high, if it is actually the SKU that many have speculated it is.

The 12 nm 35 W Ryzen 7 3750H is essentially on par with the 14 nm 45 W Core i5-8300H and even i5-9300H in terms of multi-threaded performance. Now, all that's left is for more OEMs to adopt the Ryzen H-series so more budget-conscious or mainstream gamers can benefit from the generally less expensive AMD parts.

A 16-core Zen 2 AMD Ryzen 3000 processor has apparently been benchmarked on Cinebench R15 and offered up a score that will surprise or amaze many. It’s believed the chip in question has a base clock of 3.2 GHz with a boost available up to 4.3 GHz. The unnamed AMD product is supposed to have attained a score of 4,278 points.

Codenamed "Valhalla," the X570 chipset brings PCIe 4.0 to consumer desktop computers. The motherboards to use it will support the upcoming EPYC and Ryzen processors. Although not official yet, images of two MSI boards that use the X570 chipset have just been spotted as well, so the launch of the platform is imminent.

Nowhere else can you find a gaming laptop powered by a Ryzen 7 3750H CPU and a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti GPU — for now, at least. Asus continues to be the only OEM offering 35 W Ryzen H-class options even after half a year since the initial unveiling of the new processor series.

An engineering sample of an upcoming AMD processor has been spotted on UserBenchmark. This particular chip has visited the benchmark before, back in January, but it seems it has received some improvements in the meantime. The sample is believed to be connected to AMD’s “Matisse” Ryzen 3000 series of Zen 2 desktop processors.

A flaw in Intel's modern CPU architectures can be used in a new attack. Dubbed "ZombieLoad," the vulnerability is similar to the Spectre and Meltdown bugs that haunted the PC market last year. ZombieLoad uses a similar flaw in Intel CPUs' speculative execution processes to access and leak data, including passwords, keys, and sensitive data.

The leaked specs come from reliable source Tum Apisak on Twitter, who managed to intercept a 16-core engineering sample that is usually offered by AMD to motherboard makers for design purposes. With 3.3 GHz default clocks and boost clocks reaching 4.5 GHz, the unnamed chip may turn up to be the Ryzen 9 3800X model leaked in late 2018 by AdoredTV.

An advert from One-Netbook Technology seems to show that the company is preparing to enter the handheld gaming PC market. Depending on the development time involved, any product could end up being a rival to the upcoming GPD Win Max and the Smach Z. The new brand name (and possibly the name of the console) is OneGx.

A PC builder has managed to install four Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti graphics cards in the tiniest of desktop cases, and then proceeded to amass a huge score of over 3,500 points on OctaneBench while claiming that none of the GPUs exceeded a temperature of 75 °C /167 °F. The customized desktop, which is apparently used for rendering work, also features an AMD CPU.

A new investor presentation from AMD has been published online and there are numerous interesting additions and omissions from the previous presentation. In comes mention of Zen 3, Zen 4, Milan and cloud gaming connected to Navi, and no doubt to the dismay of HEDT processor fans, out goes the 3rd Gen Ryzen Threadripper CPU.

Happy 50th Anniversary, AMD. The red team is celebrating half a century in business, having been founded on May 1, 1969. There are numerous celebratory products brandishing a flash of gold to enliven proceedings and Newegg is offering all sorts of goodies to those who buy an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X AMD50 Gold Edition – which at one point included entry into a prize draw to win a Matisse processor.

AMD has announced in an earnings conference call that its 7nm Navi GPU series will be launched in the third quarter of 2019. It is expected that there will be some sort of revelation about Navi at this year’s Computex, which starts at the end of May, with a possible full reveal at E3 in the second week of June.

Asus has posted a statement detailing which of its motherboards will be compatible with the upcoming next-generation Ryzen 3000 series of processors from AMD. The list covers models from the 300 and 400 series of products, and Asus has added that further motherboards will be included on the list soon.

A new purported leak about the PlayStation 5 has offered up some more detailed information about the key components. Sony already announced that the next-generation console will feature an AMD APU with a 7nm Zen 2 CPU and Navi GPU. But a new leaker claims to have specific clock rates that were apparently obtained from a more recent Sony meeting.

The picture shows a printed cut-out that has been placed on top of a Lenovo ThinkPad laptop to give an idea of the Win Max’s dimensions. A list of rumored specifications has also been posted online.

The X570 chipset is compatible with AMD's upcoming Ryzen 3000 series. So far, we have been led to believe that it will support PCIe 4.0 and will, obviously, next-gen performance and speed. A new leak appears to confirm its all-4.0 nature, as well as the number of USB ports an X570 motherboard may have.
