One UI 2.5 has arrived on more versions of the Galaxy S9, S9 Plus and Note 9. Following the arrival of the OS update for unlocked handsets last month, One UI 2.5 has now reached the T-Mobile and Verizon locked editions of the three devices in the US. One UI 2.5 for the three carrier-versions also includes the October 2020 security patch update, but the November 2020 set has already hit the Note 9 in Germany.

Xiaomi's Mi Mix series has typically provided some of the most impressive smartphone designs, but the company doesn't appear set to offer a Mi Mix 4 anytime soon. Samsung may be about to ride to the rescue, however, as the South Korean company has filed a patent for a rather...interesting smartphone design.

The release of the Galaxy S21 series isn't that far off any more and more information has surfaced about the line-leading Galaxy S21 Ultra. Notable takeaways include faster charging than the Note 20 Ultra, a new 108 MP camera, and much-awaited display improvements.

Samsung appears to be prepping a successor to the Galaxy A51 5G. Predictably called the Galaxy A52 5G, the device seemingly features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G chipset and 6 GB of RAM.

Word on the street is that the smartphone featuring the new wrap-around display would be part of the Galaxy Z series and could be launched soon in response to Xiaomi's commercial version for the Mi Mix Alpha. A list of devices that will receive One UI 3.0 has appeared online, suggesting that Samsung may bring Android 11 to up to 90 smartphones and tablets over the next few months. The list includes representatives from Samsung Galaxy A, M, Note, S and Tab series, among others.

Although it is not official yet, Samsung is expected to release the Galaxy S21 Ultra sometime in January 2021. The flagship will reportedly come with a 6.8-inch AMOLED panel clocked at 120Hz, a quad-camera array with two telephoto lenses, and a 5,000mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging. It is expected to retail at US$1,300 for the base variant with 128GB of storage and 12GB of RAM.

Samsung could be finally bringing S-Pen support to its Galaxy Z Fold line with next year’s model. According to a new report, the Galaxy Z Fold3 will add the long awaited feature thanks to the introduction of thicker foldable glass and some other tweaks.

Samsung has finally begun issuing fixes for the Galaxy S20 FE's touchscreen problems via a software update. It is roughly 174MB in size and is currently rolling out in Europe. A global release should follow suit in the coming days.

Samsung has dropped the first hints about the Exynos 1080, its mid-range successor to the Exynos 980. The chipset is due to be built on a 5 nm node with ARM's new Cortex-A78 and Mali-G78 cores. Samsung US has announced that the OEM's TV Plus app is coming to smartphones. The Bill of Materials (BoM) for the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G (128 GB variant) has been estimated at a total of US$548.90. As the flagship device currently has an official retail price of US$1,299.99, then this BoM cost is equivalent to 42.22% of the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G’s price tag. The display and the communication components are the priciest parts.
