US adults check their phones nearly four times more often than they did in 2019, according to new research

The results of a new study conducted in 2022 can be used to conclude that smartphone use-frequency among adults based in the United States has increased by about 366% compared to that measured three years ago. The researchers report that 1 in 5 of their subjects wouldn't go without their phone for more than a few hours, while only 1 in 4 could withstand the temptation to bring their device into the bathroom with them.

Apple's Self Service Repair program makes home iPhone repairs a whole lot easier

Apple has announced its new Self Service Repair program that lets the end users fix their own smartphones. Replacement parts, tools and repair manuals are all available via Apple's website. The program will be expanded to Europe later this year.

Apple cuts orders for the iPhone SE 5G, while the 13 Pro and Pro Max find "unexpected" favor in 2022

According to a South Korean industry blog, Apple has greatly increased its orders for new iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max units. Demand for these higher-end models has escalated, whereas that for the SE 2022, freshly released as the OEM's latest sub-premium alternative, has not. Therefore, the Pros are getting a production spike, whereas that of the new SE is being cut back.

Rumor | Apple's next iPhone charger will come with wattage and port-count upgrades

A well-known leaker claims to have come across new first-party iPhone accessories prior to its launch on the market. The new optional purchases do look more or less like genuine Apple-brand products in their appearance and packaging; however, they are quite different from more verifiable counterparts in that they have a higher power-delivery spec and more ports than usual.
