Shargeek, the maker of distinctive 'cyberpunk' power accessories such as the Storm 2 power bank, has announced that it will operate under the updated brand name of Sharge going forward. By any name, its transparent-esthetic, tech enthusiast-friendly design DNA is still expressed in its upcoming take on the MagSafe power bank, touted as the first of its kind to boast (visible) active cooling.

Update: The ICEMAG has now been unleashed at US$50.99, or 15% off its eventual RRP for its first ~7 days on sharge.com, with availability on Amazon to follow.

It has now been revealed to have a USB type-C port rated for an output of up to 20W, and to also function as an 18W input, in addition to its new actively-cooled up-to-7.5W magnetic wireless charging feature.

The ICEMAG is touted as best suited to iPhones of the 12, 13 and 14 series, although those devices would need their case to be MagSafe or MagSafe-equivalent for full compatibility.

Original Article: The company formerly known as Shargeek has now decided to lean all the way into its recent switch to the Sharge name under which it crowdfunded the innovative Disk SSD enclosure, with a full re-branding campaign set to come into full effect from late August 2023.

The initiative is projected to cover the online and offline aspects of Sharge's business over time, although Shargeek will remain the series name for devices such as its Storm2-series power banks. Speaking of, the first such accessory to launch under the new brand will be along the same lines, albeit pitched more at iPhone users.

The ICEMAG is already touted as the "World's 1st Magnetic Power Bank with Active Cooling", thanks to its own integrated active fan. In true Shargeek Sharge fashion, this unique selling point is displayed along with some strategically-placed capacitors and chips under a transparent window in the ICEMAG's casing - complete with its own RGB, like that of the RedMagic 8 Pro.

Then again, that similarly-styled gaming smartphone would still outpace it in terms of fan-speed, rated at up to 8,000 RPM in the new power bank. Nevertheless, the brand asserts that this is still fast enough to keep its main MagSafe-compatible wireless charging use-case going at up to 7.5W over time with potentially enhanced safety and stability.

Sharge has yet to announce pricing or availability for its new 10,000mAh magnetic charging accessory, although it does offer the opportunity to sign up to a mailing list for "15% early bird OFF" ahead of the ICEMAG's late August 2023 debut.
