In recent years, third parties have introduced smartphone cases that enable unofficial compatibility with MagSafe accessories, such as the MagSafe Charger, MagSafe Battery Pack or the iPhone Leather Wallet, thanks to an integrated magnetic ring. While none are directly compatible with the upcoming Qi2 wireless charging standard, which arrives later this year, the likes of Spigen's 'OneTap Ring' technology bring a MagSafe-like charging experience to Android devices.
Perhaps predictably, Spigen has now brought the OneTap Ring to the Galaxy S23 Ultra with its Ultra Hybrid case. For some reason, the company has not released equivalent cases for the Galaxy S23 or Galaxy S23 Plus yet, which also launched earlier this week. The Ultra Hybrid OneTap Ring case is functionally the same as Spigen's other Ultra Hybrid cases though, with flexible TPU mated to a polycarbonate back plate.
Currently, the Ultra Hybrid OneTap Ring case is on backorder from Spigen for US$49.99 in the US. However, Amazon US' price history reveals that the case should actually retail for US$22.99. By contrast, Spigen sells the same case in the UK for £26.99 and €26.99 in the Eurozone. Spigen has created other accessories for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra too, such as a lens protector for the latter. Please see Spigen's website for more details.
