Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra receive Adobe Lightroom integration for professional image editing within Expert RAW app
Samsung has brought several camera upgrades to market with the Galaxy S23 series, which it launched on Wednesday. Arguably, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is the star of the show in this regard, with a 200 MP primary camera replacing the 108 MP equivalent in the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Samsung also upgraded the camera stack of its cheaper flagship smartphones, with the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus sharing the same new 12 MP front-facing camera.
The improvements do not stop there either, with Adobe confirming all three Galaxy S23 series models supports its Lightroom software. In a blog post, Adobe explains that Lightroom will be available globally, with no location locks like some Good Lock extensions. Samsung restricts Adobe Lightroom editing to the Expert RAW app, though. Specifically, Adobe Lightroom is baked into Expert RAW rather than being a separate app.
It is worth stressing that Adobe Lightroom on Android is not as feature-rich as its desktop equivalent. However, Adobe emphasises that the Galaxy S23 series is capable of capturing uncompressed 16-bit images in RAW. As the images below show, Adobe has bundled several core features from the desktop version of Lightroom, including object deletion and various presets. The Galaxy S23 series can also synchronise images with a PC or Mac, although you may need an Adobe subscription with cloud storage to do so. The Galaxy S23 series is already orderable globally but will not start shipping until the middle of the month.
