AYANEO KUN to launch next week from US$999 with shipments scheduled for mid-October
AYANEO has now revealed pricing and the key features of the KUN, the company's largest gaming handheld. As we have discussed previously, the AYANEO KUN relies upon the AMD Ryzen 7 7840U, the APU of choice for modern gaming handhelds. According to AYANEO, its new 'KUNPeng' heat dissipation system has allowed it to increase the APU's TDP from a 28 W default to 54 W, effectively giving its Radeon 780M iGPU more headroom when gaming. In summary, AYANEO has equipped the KUN with the following hardware:
- 8.4-inch IPS display with 1600p native resolution
- 75 Wh (19,500 mAh) battery
- Customisable back buttons
- Floating eight-directional d-pad
- Hall sensing joysticks and triggers
- Two touchpads
- Windows Hello face recognition
Additionally, AYANEO has confirmed that the KUN will be orderable on September 5, starting at 15:00 UTC. As always, the company will offer the gaming handheld through Indiegogo first, with availability on its website at a later date. Moreover, AYANEO has already committed itself to delivering Indiegogo orders from mid-October, less than six weeks after the device's launch date.
The AYANEO KUN will start at US$999 with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. Please note that this is AYANEO's Early Bird pricing. As such, the company is only likely to offer a few hundred units at this price, with a US$1,129 Indiegogo price also mentioned. Alternatively, the AYANEO KUN will be available with 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB or 2 TB of storage at US$1,159 and US$1,259 early bird prices, respectively. Finally, the AYANEO KUN will top out at 64 GB of RAM and 4 TB of storage for US$1,699. Please see the AYANEO KUN Indiegogo page for more details.
