Sharge has updated its Shargeek line of transparently stylish power banks with its most powerful variant yet. The new 170 also has a new "prism silhouette" design that puts 24,000mAh batteries to "mighty two-way fast charging" effect, being compatible with up to 140W USB-PD 3.1-capable devices and of powering itself back up by 50% in as little as 20 minutes. The Shargeek 170 also packs a new Smart Display and splash-proofing.

Update: The Shargeek 170 Kickstarter campaign is now underway, and has already accrued nearly US$100,000 in backing (correct at time of writing). It is still available at its super early bird price of US$119 for a limited time.

Original Article: Like its predecessors the Shargeek 100 and 130, the 170 is touted as "a blend of art and technology" with visible circuitry and internals. However, it improves on its forebears by supporting faster-charging devices than ever before, with a typical capacity of 24,000mAh for its upgraded, apparently "electric-vehicle-grade" batteries.

The 170 also adopts a new pentahedral shape as opposed to the traditional blocky power bank form-factor. This new casing, inspired by the classic Pink Floyd album Dark Side of the Moon for a "timeless" sci-fi appeal, is rated as "fireproof" and "waterproof" (well, IP4-rated for splash resistance) for extra durability.

It is sealed with triangular end-caps, one of which houses its dual USB type-C ports and single type-A ports. Either of the former is rated to deliver power at up to 140W, whereas the latter can go at up to 30W.

Accordingly, Sharge asserts that the power bank has a total theoretical output of 170W, albeit when the type-A port and only 1 of the type-Cs are in use. Either high-wattage ports is also rated to act as a 140W input, for the fastest re-charging of the new gadget's series yet.

The new Shargeek power bank also integrates a new seven-segment "Full-Color Smart Display" powered by Sharge's Energy Storage Management OS in order to keep track of all that potentially high-speed charging and discharging.

The Shargeek 170 will debut on Kickstarter soon for as little as US$119 (or up to 40% off its eventual retail price) in terms of early-bird prices. You can sign up on the Sharge website for a email heads-up when this campaign goes live, and stay tuned for our upcoming review in the meantime.
