OnePlus has announced its ColorOS update schedule for October 2022. This list of smartphones eligible for either public beta or stable builds of the Android skin's latest 13 version during that month shows that there are just 2 devices in the latter category. It might only apply to units sold in China, yet could influence how soon international 9-series users will see stable OxygenOS 13.

The Moto G72 has arrived following a short teaser campaign. Billed as Motorola's latest mid-range smartphone, the Moto G72 has a 6.55-inch and 120 Hz pOLED display, a 108 MP primary camera and a 5,000 mAh battery, among other features. Sadly, Motorola has chosen a weaker chipset to keep costs down.

HMD Global now sells the Nokia X30 5G in Europe and the UK. Available in two memory configurations and in two colours, the Nokia X30 5G combines a Snapdragon 695 chipset with a 90 Hz AMOLED display and three high-resolution cameras. The Nokia X30 5G is orderable now from £399 or €519 in the Eurozone.

The Reno8 series are Android smartphones from OPPO that boosted their mid-range appeal with extra-fast SuperVOOC 80W charging. Their 2023 successors, however, are now thought to drop the prospect of upholding or improving on this reputation by going with a trend recently set by Huawei and Xiaomi instead. It involves new charging tech that, while potentially more compatible across brands, is much slower than anything OPPO has achieved alone as of late.

ZTE has introduced the Axon 30S in China, where it is orderable from today. Although ZTE has pitched the Axon 30S as a mid-range smartphone, it contains some flagship hardware, including an under-display camera (UDC). The ZTE Axon 30S has a huge 120 Hz panel too, along with support for 55 W fast charging, among other features.

The latest set of specs reveal most of the essentials of the upcoming Google Pixel 7 handset, including a Tensor G2 SoC and a Titan chip, 8 GB of memory and up to 256 GB internal storage, Android 13, 4,700 mAh battery with 30 W fast charging and wireless charging, and more. However, all these are not confirmed by Google yet.
