According to leaker Kartikey Singh, Xiaomi is planning some big changes for its next 'Ultra' smartphone, which remains elusive for now. With Xiaomi bringing the Sony IMX989 from the Xiaomi 12S Ultra across to the Xiaomi 13 Pro, arguably one of the former's standout features, it should come as no surprise that Singh believes will turn to camera improvements again with the Xiaomi 13 Ultra.
Supposedly, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra's periscope camera 'will shock everyone', presumably because of its image quality rather than because of any deficiencies that might exist. The leaker hints that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra could even usurp the zoom capabilities of recent Galaxy S Ultra smartphones, with the Galaxy S22 Ultra featuring dedicated 3x and 10x optical zoom camera sensors.
Singh has not provided any specifics in this regard, so it remains to be seen what Xiaomi has up its sleeve. Meanwhile, Digital Chat Station claims to have obtained storage details about 'M1', the presumed codename for the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. Reputedly, the device will offer up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, eclipsing the Xiaomi 13 Pro. Likewise, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is said to contain up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 flash storage, double what the Xiaomi 13 Pro manages. As it stands, Xiaomi is expected to unveil the Xiaomi 13 Ultra early next year, possibly alongside the global introduction of the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro.
