RedMagic asserts that its upcoming 8 Pro series will emerge as the most "evolved" form of its premium Android gaming smartphone line on December 26, 2022. To this end, the brand is hyping its upcoming flagships with a sneak peek at their second-gen under-display camera screens. They are touted to be joined by improved internal specs, main rear cameras and speakers.

RedMagic asserts that it new 8 Pro flagship smartphone will go beyond the brand's gaming roots on December 26, 2022. Despite this, it has confirmed that the device will launch with "The RedMagic 7 series comes with up to 1TB of internal storage, an inaugural under-display camera variant - and 165W chargers in the boxes520Hz somatosensory shoulder keys" and an "e-sports-grade dual X-axis linear motor" for potentially improved haptics to go with the "visual effects evolution" of its new flat under-display camera (UDC) screen.

The 8 Pro's predecessors pioneered this type of display in 2022; however, RedMagic already backs this flat panel for potentially improved consistency and color accuracy thanks to an "innovative" 42-step production process courtesy of BOE.

RedMagic has also lost no time in pointing out that the result of this collaboration has left the 8 Pro with a superior screen-to-body ratio (93.7%), even compared to the iPhone 14 Pro series.

It seems the 8 Pro, like its forebears, may have to content itself with a 120Hz refresh rate thanks to its new truly edge-to-edge screen. Nevertheless, RedMagic is confident that custom Red Core 2 augmentations for its its Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 platform will ensure consistent frame-rates even under the most demanding load.

The Qualcomm platform is to be cooled with a signature ICE 11.0 Magic Cooling System in the RedMagic 8 Pro. This iteration comes with a "3D double pump vapor chamber" of the greatest surface area yet (~2068mm³), as well as 10 additional layers of heat-dissipating materials and an in-built air duct.

The RedMagic 8 Pro series' higher-end SKUs are also (somewhat inevitably) touted to come with their own active fans. They are also to debut with Snapdragon Sound, which apparently confer "96kHz lossless quality" on the 8 Pro's "1115K+1216 ultra-linear stereo double speakers".

RedMagic also now insists that all these internals can be kept on for up to 47 hours per charge, thanks to the upgraded 6,000mAh battery it has crammed into the 8 Pro. Its longevity may be due to the new CUBE "performance rhythm" schedule developed for the impending flagship. With its 165W charging speed, it may take as little as 14 minutes to get back to 100% again.

Despite all this entertainment-focused promise, the upcoming device is still backed to be the most well-rounded flagship of its series thus far. To this end, the brand has secured the ISOCELL GN5 sensor seen in other premium camera-oriented devices, to go nicely with the 8 Pro's considerably more Samsung-like triple rear shooter design.

Therefore, thanks to all this pre-launch hype, not much more remains to be discovered about the RedMagic 8 Pro and its possible variants - apart from their pricing, that is.
