RedMagic has finally revealed pricing for a gaming monitor that it presented in July. Aimed at Esports gamers, the gaming monitor has a 27-inch IPS panel that operates natively at 4K (3,840 x 2,160) in a 16:9 aspect ratio. Arguably, one of the monitor's most exciting features is its use of Mini LED backlights, which RedMagic claims makes it VESA DisplayHDR 1000 compliant.
According to the company, its gaming monitor relies on 1,152 local dimming zones for up to 1,000 nits of peak brightness and a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. Similarly, the gaming monitor offers Delta E deviations of less than 1, as well as 99% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space. Additionally, the gaming monitor delivers 1 ms response times, a 160 Hz refresh rate and support for either AMD FreeSync or NVIDIA G-SYNC.
Better still, RedMagic has included two HDMI 2.1 ports, thereby providing compatibility with current generation consoles at 4K and 120 Hz. Moreover, the gaming monitor has a DisplayPort, presumably of the 1.4 standard, two USB 3.0 Type-A ports and a USB Type-C port that can recharge other devices at up to 90 W. Furthermore, RedMagic has equipped the monitor with an RGB lighting ring on its rear, along with a cable management system and buttons for toggling its on-screen menu (OSD).
Unsurprisingly, the monitor's stand supports swivel, tilt and height adjustment too. RedMagic's Esports gaming monitor retails for CNY 5,499 (~US$769) in China. However, the company is currently running a pre-sale offer that reduces the monitor to CNY 4,999 (~US$699). Unfortunately, RedMagic has not confirmed whether it intends to sell the monitor globally, nor has its parent company Nubia.
