One-netbook opened ONEXPLAYER mini Pro pre-orders nearly a month ago, with the company finally bringing RDNA 2-based hardware to market. Now, the manufacturer is offering a Gundam special edition model in China. Available through Tmall, the limited edition model differs from the regular ONEXPLAYER Mini Pro with its white case, over which One-netbook has included blue and red accents, as well as an RX-78-2 Gundam logo and lettering.
Currently, the Gundam special edition starts at CNY 7,699 (~US$1,076) with 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM running at 6,400 MHz and a 1 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. Additionally, One-netbook equips the model with an AMD Ryzen 7 6800U that contains offers eight Zen 3+ CPU cores, 16 threads and a Radeon 680M iGPU. For reference, the latter features 12 Compute Units built around AMD's RDNA 2 architecture and can boost to 2.4 GHz when needed. Based on our experiences with the Radeon 680M so far, the iGPU can handle most triple-A games at 1080p when set to medium details.
In saying that, One-netbook has opted for a 1200p display with the Gundam special edition. Hence, you may need to drop titles to low graphics settings or below the panel's native 1,920 x 1,200-pixel resolution for the best gaming experience. Alternatively, the ONEXPLAYER mini Pro would make an ideal game streaming companion. Unfortunately, One-netbook has not confirmed whether the new special edition model will be making appearance outside China. Based on the availability of its identically-themed Intel sibling, we suspect that One-netbook will keep this Ryzen 7 6800U-powered model a Chinese exclusive too.
