One the lightest 17.3-inch laptops you can get will be $300 cheaper soon. The LG Gram 17 joins the increasingly long list of brand new discounted laptops running on Intel's latest Ice Lake series of processors.

Following on from yesterday's report that OnePlus will announce its next suite of devices next month, a new rumour claims that the OnePlus 8 series will start at just £400 (~US$510). Additionally, the OnePlus 8 Pro, the premier of the three handsets, will support not only dual-band 5G and 30 W wireless charging, but also 30 W wireless charging. The OnePlus 8 series may not hit most markets until July, though.

AMD's Financial Analyst Day 2020 is coming up, and rumour has it that there will be plenty for us to digest. Apparently, AMD and Microsoft will showcase Xbox Series X gameplay at the event, along with three RDNA 2-based GPUs.

WhatsApp is globally rolling out dark mode for Android and iOS users after more than a month of beta testing. The Facebook-owned company says that dark mode is designed to lower eye strain in low light environments. While iOS users get to experience a pure black theme, Android users have to be content with a dark grey environment.

SQFMI has launched a new smartwatch. Called the Watchy, the device is equipped with an E-ink display, four buttons and has a vibration motor. An accelerometer and a real-time clock are onboard too, along with Bluetooth LE and Wi-Fi support.

The first 3DMark Fire Strike and Time Spy results of the AMD Ryzen 5 4600H seem to indicate that the new APU could pose a tough challenge for the Intel Core i7-10750H despite the Ryzen 5 4600H having a lower L3 cache and about 700 MHz lower clock. The performance gains with Ryzen 4000 combined with the availability of a capable Vega iGPU may finally give a shot in the arm to AMD's fortunes in the laptop market.

Dell has seemingly confirmed the existence of 10th Gen Intel Comet Lake desktop processors thanks to a promo video the computer manufacturer uploaded to YouTube, which has now been made private. The clip concerned the upcoming refreshed Dell XPS Tower and Dell XPS Tower Special Edition desktop PCs that will feature CPUs from the Comet Lake-S lineup and Nvidia GeForce RTX graphics cards.

OnePlus has revealed the non-phone-related new device it has been working on: the OnePlus Snowbot. Doom Eternal is clearly designed for PC systems, first and foremost. The 2016 Doom game was already well optimized, but the new idTech 7 engine takes optimization to new levels as the game now scales with existing high-end and even unreleased hardware to deliver 1,000 fps of superfluid gameplay. While current gen console will be capped at 60 fps most likely, the developers hint at some impressive features for the next gen models.

Bloomberg reports that Nokia is coming to an end because of "fierce competition" from the likes of Ericsson and Huawei. The company is currently reviewing various, including asset sales and mergers. Nokia also states that it does not expect a major recovery in profits until next year at the earliest.

John Prendergast calculated that the CPU part of the APU integrated in the next gen consoles may not be too impressive, because the TDPs need to be kept under 200 W. Thus, we are looking at performance levels in line with an older Ryzen 5 1600 model with a 40 W TDP. The GPU parts will get TDPs in excess of 100 W, on the other hand.

It has not been a good few days for Xiaomi, at least concerning the Mi A3 anyway. Having botched the device's Android 10 update the company now claims that it is working to re-release the OS upgrade "as soon as possible". Convinced? Neither are we.

Huawei has been hard at work developing its own Play Store alternative for quite some time now. The company is reportedly negotiating with Indian app developer Indus OS to create one for the country. Indus OS is an established player in the region and has over 400,000 apps on its platform.

OnePlus smartphone users are reporting that deleting photos from the Google Photos app does not completely remove them from the device. Instead, the photos are moved to the OnePlus Gallery app's recycle bin, which takes up space over time unless the user identifies and removes them manually from the Gallery app.

The clock speed boost allows the Core i9-10980HK to achieve a multi-core score over 32,000 in Geekbench, eclipsing even something like the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2970WX.

A new small Sony handset has been certified at the TENAA, complete with a 5.4-inch display and up to 6 GB of RAM, along with 128 GB of storage. The device, codenamed S20A, has a 4,000 mAh battery too. It is unlikely to be a new Xperia Compact, though.

OnePlus will reportedly launch the OnePlus 8 series of smartphones in April, according to a source familiar with the matter. The company is expected to release three devices this year; the OnePlus 8 Lite, OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. OnePlus 8 Lite will be the world's first phone to run MediaTek's Dimensity 1000 SoC.

AIB variants of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER and GeForce RTX 2070 top the GPU sales list for Mindfactory this week, with the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti not too far behind. There are several instances of AMD’s Radeon RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT cards making reasonable sales, but the newer RX 5600 XT has not prevented AMD’s overall market share decreasing for this particular retailer.

AMD’s Ryzen 7 4800HS mobile SoC has been spotted on another benchmark, in this case 3DMark’s Fire Strike Extreme. The Renoir APU’s results were compared with those of the high-end Comet Lake Intel Core i7-10750H and the Ryzen 5 4600H. Although the Intel part offered the highest 3DMark score and graphics score, the Ryzen 7 4800HS’s physics score was way beyond the chosen rivals.

Once again AMD has enjoyed healthy sales in regard to information taken from sales data from Mindfactory. Leading the charge for Team Red is the Ryzen 5 3600 and Ryzen 7 3700X, followed by seven more processors from AMD. However, overall share of CPU sales shifted slightly in Intel’s favor, although AMD still commands 84.36%.

It has been rumored that this could be the launch place for Ampere. In regard to the virus outbreak, the company says it is taking "precautions" and will monitor the situation closely.

A vetted industry insider has been dishing up some interesting information about the upcoming next-gen consoles. It appears there will be Pro versions of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X after all. Apparently, the base PS5 can boast of 9 teraflops of GPU power, while the Pro model will be closer to the 12 TFLOPS of the Pro variant of the XSX.

Xiaomi's current highest rate of commercial-grade wireless charging is found in the Mi 10 series. It can power a phone at 30 watts (W). However, the OEM has also just demonstrated its next generation, a 40W system, that can charge a phone in as little as 40 minutes.
