AMD's Financial Analyst Day 2020 is coming up, and rumour has it that there will be plenty for us to digest. Apparently, AMD and Microsoft will showcase Xbox Series X gameplay at the event, along with three RDNA 2-based GPUs.

We are unsure what to make of this one, primarily because the information comes from a throwaway account on Reddit. If that has not already set off alarm bells, then apparently AMD and Microsoft will showcase RDNA 2 at the former's Financial Analyst Day - 2020. Hosted in Santa Clara between 13:00 and 18:00 PST, you can listen to the webcast here when it goes live.

According to the post on Reddit, Turn 10 will also be in attendance, where it will demonstrate an "unnamed racing game" that showcases raytraced reflections. There will apparently be demonstrations of variable rate shading (VRS) in Forza Horizon 4 too.

More broadly, Lisa Su will highlight the potential of the RDNA 2 architecture, with a lead engineer from Playground Games apparently due to claim that RDNA 2 allows the Xbox Series X to reach 120 FPS at 4K. Su will supposedly mention three RDNA 2-based GPUs too, with the most powerful offering "18.x TF" for US$999.

Presumably, the three RDNA 2-based GPUs will be from the RX 6000 series, colloquially known as "Big Navi" for the time being. We would not rule out the APU in the Xbox Series X from being one of those three, though. Additionally, Su and Phil Spencer will focus on Azure-based raytracing.

Oddly, one respected leaker, who tweets as @klobrille, initially thought there could be something to the above. Sadly, they later tweeted that further investigations led them to believe that the rumours are "very likely not true". Hence, even though Windows Central has also picked up the story, we remain sceptical.
