The publication of the JEDEC specifications is paving the way for the accelerated adoption of the DDR5 standard. First to benefit from the new standard are the server and HPC sectors, while the consumer market may first see DDR5-ready systems in 2021. Initial speeds start at 4.8 GHz, but should hit 6.4 GHz in a few years, and capacities should gradually rise to 48-64 GB per DIMM, with a maximum of 1 TB in the foreseeable future.

The Lenovo ThinkStation P620 is the first device of its kind to run on the Ryzen Threadripper PRO platform

AMD has finally made the most enterprise-friendly variants of its Ryzen 3000 series official. It consists of up-to-64-core processors, as is the case with its flagship, the 3995WX. Lenovo has announced its P620 ThinkStation alongside this new line as the first workstations to run on these new Threadripper PROs.

Mobvoi may be best known as a wearables brand; however, it is also breaking into the market for smart-home gadgets. The latest of these is the LifeSmart outdoor camera. It supports footage at HD or FHD resolutions, has an IR night-vision mode and a 110-degree field of view.
