Samsung has launched a new low-cost smartphone in India. The Samsung Galaxy M01s comes with a 6.2-inch TFT screen, two rear cameras, a MediaTek Helio P22 SoC, and a 4,000mAh battery. There is only one variant with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, which retails at INR 9,999 (US$133).

Nvidia has also announced 9 other brand new titles now available to stream on GeForce Now including Far Cry Primal, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint, and TrackMania 2 Stadium.

Recent EMUI 10 and EMUI 10.1 updates have been causing battery problems on some devices. According to several reports, devices have been unable to charge beyond 60% and have suffered from excessive battery drain.

Xiaomi smartphone owners with older devices can still get a taste of the Android 10 operating system thanks to custom ROM providers. Xiaomi has announced two new electric scooters, along with a Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 special edition of its flagship model. Called the Mi Electric Scooter 1S and Mi Electric Scooter Pro 2, the scooters will go on sale for €399 and €499, respectively.

Xiaomi has launched the global edition of the Mi Band 5, called the Mi Smart Band 5. Featuring a 1.1-inch AMOLED panel, 11 sports modes and 5 ATM water resistance, the Mi Smart Band 5 retails for €39.99 or £39.99 in the UK. The fitness tracker also has a PPG heart rate sensor and supports up to 14 days of battery life, but NFC, a SpO2 sensor and Alexa integration are absent.

EMUI 10.1 has reached 39 devices, Huawei has confirmed. The number, which includes Honor devices, features recent flagships like the Mate 30 and P30 series. EMUI 10.1 is a modest upgrade over EMUI 10 and is somewhat of a stopgap before the Android 11-based EMUI 11 arrives later this year.

AMD is not pulling any punches with its new Ryzen Threadripper PRO series. Featuring 12-64 core processors, the Ryzen Threadripper PRO series apparently dwarfs competing Intel Xeon processors. AMD even claims that one Threadripper PRO 3995WX can outperform two Xeon Platinum 8280 processors in countless tasks.

MIUI 12 has arrived for the EU versions of the Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro and Poco F2 Pro. While the inaugural MIUI 12 update is rolling out to handsets now, there have been multiple reports of the Redmi K20 and Mi 9T handsets failing to upgrade to MIUI 12.

Tipster @UniverseIce stated that current firmware for the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra supports QHD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate, but not both at the same time. Since this is a feature other devices like the OnePlus 8 Pro already support, we expect that a post-launch update might add this option in.

The publication of the JEDEC specifications is paving the way for the accelerated adoption of the DDR5 standard. First to benefit from the new standard are the server and HPC sectors, while the consumer market may first see DDR5-ready systems in 2021. Initial speeds start at 4.8 GHz, but should hit 6.4 GHz in a few years, and capacities should gradually rise to 48-64 GB per DIMM, with a maximum of 1 TB in the foreseeable future.

Predictions for the release timeframe for a PlayStation 5 Portable and PlayStation 6 console have been given some credibility thanks to the scheduling for the PlayStation 5. An old report from the investment banking firm Goldman Sachs stated that the PS5 would be launched in 2020. The success of the Nintendo Switch and Switch Lite could see Sony consider a potential PS5P device.

Reports from both Nikkei Asian Review and Bloomberg have stated that Sony is practically doubling the initial production run of the PlayStation 5.
