Mysterious Lenovo device turns out to be named the Lenovo A8: budget Lenovo A7 successor will have 5000 mAh battery per TUV Rheinland certification
A listing on the Thai National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Corporation database indicates that Lenovo’s L10041 device will actually be called the Lenovo A8. Another listing for the L10041 on TUV Rheinland’s certification database indicates that the Lenovo A8 will feature a 5000 mAh battery.
We know very little about this upcoming device apart from these two data points. However, the name strongly suggests that the A8 will succeed Lenovo’s entry-level A7 smartphone, a device expected to hit the Indian market later this month at a sub-US$100 price point.
The Lenovo A7 is truly a bottom-of-the-barrel device, sporting a Unisoc SC9863 chipset and 2GB of RAM, keys reasons why it’s able to undercut even the Redmi 9A in the price-sensitive Indian market.
Other rumors indicate that the Lenovo A8 will swap out the A7’s Unisoc chipset for a Mediatek 6750M. Moreover, the Lenovo A8’s 5000 mAh battery represents a significant increase over the 4000 mAh battery in the A7. We should hear more about this entry-level smartphone in the months to come and will keep you posted.
