Images and specs leak for the Motorola E7: budget entrant with teardrop notch, Snapdragon 632, 13MP dual rear camera, and Android 10 takes the fight to Xiaomi Redmi 9A

A Weibo tipster recently revealed photos of Motorola’s upcoming entry-level E7 smartphone. The photos showcase a chunky design with a teardrop notch and dual rear cameras coming in at 13MP. A screenshot of the Android version screen in settings revealed further details - the Moto E7 wil be shipping with Android 10 right out of the box and it will sport the Qualcomm Snapdragon 632, a potent alternative to the Mediatek G25 that competing entry-level phones like the Redmi 9A use. 

The inclusion of the Snapdragon 632 could make the Motorola E7 a choice pick for entry-level gamers. This is because the integrated Adreno 506 is capable of running titles like PUBG and Asphalt 9 at reasonable settings. Earlier leaks indicated that the smartphone would feature an HD+ display, par for the course in this price category. 

Key competition will come from Xiaomi’s Redmi 9A. That particular device offers a 5000 mAh battery, a 6.5-in HD+ display, and the MediaTek G25 for just €99. We should hear more about the Motorola E7 in the weeks to come. At this point, it looks like pricing will be crucial - if Motorola can deliver a Snapdragon 632 device in roughly the same price-bracket as the Redmi 9A, it might have a winner on its hands.
