While Xiaomi is offering to fix Mi A2 Lite handsets that it bricked with its most-recent Android 10 update, the company may be on the verge of issuing a new build to the device. Promised earlier this month to be arriving before the end of March, Xiaomi is still yet to confirm when it plans to address the bugs that are wreaking havoc with some Mi A2 Lite handsets.
Now, it has emerged that this update will also contain the March security patch update, giving us an idea of when Xiaomi will release it. According to a Super moderator on Mi.com, the new build will contain much-needed "bug fixes" too. The same moderator states that the update will be available to download "very soon".
However, they also recommend factory resetting the Mi A2 Lite after you have upgraded to it the upcoming build. While the moderator stresses that this is not mandatory, doing so may eliminate any bugs that remain after upgrading.
In our opinion, this seems like a major caveat if one of the main purposes of the new update is to fix bugs that a previous update introduced. This does not seem to be a great solution in our opinion either, as factory resetting your device and setting it up again is incredibly time-consuming. Hopefully, this does not prove to be a necessity when Xiaomi releases the next stable Android 10 update for the Mi A2 Lite, but we would not rule it out either going on the company's recent performance with Android One updates.
